Comfy, but Not A Lot of Side to Side Support
This is a comfortable shoe that is true to size. However, there is not a lot of side to side support. So, if you're in a fitness class and you are doing anything with side to side movement or V-steps, squats, anything like that, it feels like your feet can roll to the outside over the sole. I hope that makes sense. I just don't feel a lot of support on the SIDES of my feet.

Comfort and support
I was a little concerned because this isn't a "deep" shoe and at first it felt like I wouldn't have any ankle support. However, this has turned out to be a very comfortable shoe for CrossFit and weight training.

Comfortable right out of the box. Supportive for Step and HIIT exercises.
I was immediately surprised when I put these on right out of the box, they felt so comfortable, like they were my good old worn and true exercise sneakers. Nothing hurt. Pros: - There is ample room in the toe box area, so there are *no* toes being pinched, and the tops *don't* press down on the big toe. - The entire ankle area is well cushioned. And there is *nothing* hard inside the ankle cushions that you feel digging into your ankles (like other Ryka models I tried). - The tongue fits perfectly. It is not too short, nor too long. It does *NOT* dig into your upper ankle. You don't feel it at all. It doesn't shift around while exercising. - There is a harder protective layer on the toe edges to prevent injury from bumping toes. - The material is breathable so your feet don't sweat. - The tops of the shoes are soft and flexible, and very bendable. When you bend your foot, you do not feel any part of the shoe creating hard creases that dig into the tops of your feet (like some other models I tried). - The laces are made of quality material. It is very easy to tie and untie. - The shoe is very supportive in lateral movements. They hold your feet firmly, so you don't feel like your feet are sliding around inside, which is especially important in the forefoot area. They may appear narrow and too tapered at the front, but there is just enough room to not cramp your toes, while keeping your feet firmly supported. - Great for Step exercises and for turning type moves in HIIT exercises. Shoes are light weight and don't have a high platform, so you don't lose your balance landing on a Step. - The insoles are great. They are not too hard, nor the mushy memory foam type which I hate in exercises shoes. Therefore, you get just enough cushion for impact and not too much cushion dragging you down for lift off. - I have very flat feet, and often have pain with sneakers that have stiff built-in arches that push hard into my feet. These have an arch, but they are not the hard, stiff type; they give comfortably and don't push into the bottoms of your feet. Cons: - Wish there was a little more padding in the balls of the foot for high impact, but it is sufficient to do the moves without pain.

Not for cross-training
These are right out of the box and first and last day of use for cross training. Right out of the box it's a beautiful shoe. They are very light which is something I was looking for but once I slipped them on, ⁹there was no cushion and not enough arch support for me. I have heel pain without the right support as I work an oncology unit and always on my feet then we add 7 days of workouts, these won't cut it. So I added my orthotics which felt great and fit perfect! The heels felt a little loose but I tightened the laces and started my training. With standing exercises like star tilts they were amazing as I could feel my shoe helping with stability. Then when I did lunge jumps, I had to take them off and replace them with the trainers I was using previously because the Rykas kept wanting to come off. They don't grip the heel as they should which could cause injury with all the movement I do during workouts. If your questioning if I got the right size. The answer is yes, otherwise the shoe would be too short. I wear a 5.5. I do a lot of jumps and lunges so this will not be a training shoe. If you need a shoe for weight lifting where your just need stability this may work for you. They are comfortable enough once I added the orthotics so tonight I am going to see how they hold up to a 12 hour shift so atleast I can get my money's worth out of them some how. Update: I worked a 12 hour shift with Dr Scholls inserts and my feet didn't hurt so.. I can bump this up to 3 stars only because I have to use the inserts and I cannot wear them to cross train in them as they suggest. Otherwise they were comfortable to work all night in a hospital with no issues.

Not quite up to Ryka quality.
I've worn Ryka shoes for floor exercise classes for years. They fit my feet well and give good support but allow for good movement on the floor. These are not the most attractive, but are very light weight, which is a plus. Unfortunately, the cross foot support is made of a different, lighter material, and I don't expect these to wear as well as others I've had. The price was good, so I'm keeping them and crossing my fingers.

Not comfortable enough for me
These just didn’t feel like they had enough cushion for me, but might work for others. It’s difficult to try athletic shoes and assess them thoroughly without walking in them outdoors or down the block, so making the decision in our living room is the best we can do.

Light and soft
Disclaimer! I bought these for Krav Maga training, not dancing. The soles are well made, very light, but durable. The pivot point is precisely where I need it and works wonderfully to take the strain off my ankles when rotating through kicks. I wish the body was a bit more stiff or firm instead of mesh, I need a lot of ankle support for a previous injury (broke my spring ligament in my ankle). These also ride low on the ankles, I'm more comfortable in shorles with higher ankle support, but if you want something low, light, and with some give in the body, these are for You. The insoles are not great, they're a generic craft foam material, but they're removable which is great for inserts. (Don't get an insert that's too thick, or else you'll sacrifice the space needed in the ankles to support them. Overall, good shoe for the price, maybe not so great for me specifically.

not alot of support
It felt like a cheaper make of shoe. There wasn't alot of support and so I put my orthotics in it and are using them that way but still not great.

Love Ryka!
True to size, and 7.5 always in Ryka - so I was happy when I saw these on Amazon. Colors are super cute, my only complaint (but this is with all Ryka's I've had so far) is that there should be an eyelet further up the ankle, I they don't hold the hell in as well PLUS the laces are WAY too long, like there should have been more eyelets! But I love this brand
