Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.
I have high arches and have had 2 stress fractures on my feet. These shoes support my feet and are so comfortable, they are the only shoes I own. I buy 2 pair at a time.

Sporty looking shoe
I do not buy shoes online, ever. But I could never find anything I liked in a store. So when I saw these, I figured I’d have to try. What a surprise, they are awesome. Super comfortable, sporty / sexy look.

Good shoe. Terrible sizing.
I read several reviews that said they run a little large, then a few that said they ran small. I figured that averaged out to being fairly true to size. Nope. I ordered my normal size and they are definitely too big. I started to return them and purchase a smaller size, until I noticed that a full or half size smaller in the same shoe is nearly double the price. I'll deal with a poor fit for $60. I like the shoe overall. It's very stiff, but several coworkers wear them and have assured me they'll break in quickly. It is comfortable and easy on/off. Of note, I do not plan to use these for trail running - I wanted a more supportive alternative to boots for work. EDIT: Okay, I returned them. Too huge; I wore them for a couple of hours in station and then realized I would probably trip while attempting to lift a patient. For reference, I wear a 10 in Brooks, Asics, Nike, Merrell, Keen, New Balance, and Ryka. I think I would need a 9 in these. Seems like a great shoe and a great seller, just bad sizing.

Great Hiking/Running Shoe!
I bought these to replace the Brooks Glycerin 15 (which were very poorly made). These shoes appear to be very well constructed, especially in the soles. These shoes also provide a great deal of support, especially arch support, so they are great for high arches. They fit my foot well, which is narrower through the ankle and wider in the toe box. My days of trail running are over, but the heavy duty sole and the toe protection of the toe box have made these excellent for walking the trails. I don't usually like the "quicklace" type of laces, but these actually work very well and they have grown on me. The ventilation in these shoes is also very good, which makes it ideal for the climates like Florida. If you need a pair of waterproof hiking/running shoes, I would recommend the Salomon Women's X Ultra Prime CS Waterproof W Hiking Shoe - the fit is very similar to these, but a little narrower through the toe box (just be warned, because they are waterproof, they are warm, so not good for the hotter months in places like Florida unless waterproof is a necessity).

Appear to be very durable and sturdy, exactly what I was looking for.
I bought these shoes because I needed a durable shoe that would last and it seems that they are very well made and sturdy. Only draw back is they were a bit difficult to break in, continue to be a bit stiff and unforgiving and they’re a bit heavier than I would’ve liked...however, living in Africa in extreme climate conditions and running 5 days a week required something that would really hold up. My last 3 pairs of shoes, Nike, Saucony and Brooks, have had blow outs within the first year...praying these will last longer.

Hurts, weird insole
Squeezes the heel!!! Too much room in the toe. Why?! I didn't even go hiking yet and my feel hurt. As you can see in the picture, the hell is very narrow.

Greatly Improved Construction Design
Light weight, breathable, great nonslip traction and very comfortable! I had already owned an older version of this same shoe (3 yrs old). This pair fits better because of a shoe construction improvement and also has better traction. What has changed is the material and attachment structure for the tongue. The stretchy material in the old pair that attached the tongue would bunch up, causing ripples and ridges in the instep of the shoe. Pulling on the tongue would straighten these out, but then they would reappear while wearing the shoe causing foot pain. Eventually, the ripples and ridges became a permanent part of the shoe. With the new design that doesn't happen. The tread design on the bottom of the sole has also been changed to allow for better nonslip traction. A vast improvement on both counts over my old pair!

Not very comfortable
This is good quality and durable, but not very comfortable, almost no cushion, it injured around my ankle, so you need thick socks with these, and it is larger than standard size, get 0.5-1 size smaller.

Great hikers! Just 1/2 up a size.
These trail runners fit slightly small lengthwise. I usually wear a 7.5, but my toes touched the end. I went up to a size 8 and they were a bit big. However, after wearing hiking socks these shoes fit beautifully... they accommodate my wide feet, support my little-to-no-arches, and allow space when my feet swell. Extremely comfortable for trail running and day hikes. Great traction, support, and breathability. Although they aren't completely waterproof, the soles are sturdy and water wicking just enough to stay comfortable. 4/5 stars only because the sizing is tricky... go up 1/2 a size and you'll be good to go! Would definitely buy again.

Really disappointed
I came back from taking the dogs out today with 2 blisters and soaking wet feet. The blisters may be my fault as I do not usually have these laces, so potentially I may not have tightened enough. Not a good start, I am just pleased I did not spend more on a different colour of the same shoe

Try on in shop first
I've owned several pairs of salomon previosuly and these were purchased to replace the waterproof version as i'm doing a long distance hike in a hot country. I'm a size 6 shoe but normally purchase 6.5 in Salomon (slightly larger for toe space going down hill etc) Recently purchased the Ultra X in 6.5 and they're perfect. Ordered the 6.5 and could feel the big toe of one foot touching the plastic toe cap. Returned and ordered the 7. They are massive and seem to be getting bigger. Unfortunately have worn them outside so will have to wear them with fat wooly socks. The tounge has got thicker which makes the shoe rather warm and creates pressure points on top of feet until broken in. Still got great insole and great grip on all terrain and would be perfect if not too large though.
