Runs at LEAST 2 sizes too small for adult athletic bodies.

I absolutely loved the color and style and was very upset that it didn't fit. I started with large because I wear medium in most leotards. I couldn't even get it on. I am only 5'3 and weigh about 140 (which I guess is HUGE based on these leotards). The girth alone was a major problem. Since I loved the style, I tried an XL...would have ordered XXL, but that wasn't offered. The XL might have fit if I lost 20 pounds but it also had a stain on the front (from someone else trying it on, I suppose?). It's really made for a prepubescent girl, which is a shame. Adults dance too. I am actually a competitive figure skater and 65 years old with an "adult" body (breasts). The material is not as stretchy as Capezio or Danskin. What a shame.

Size up 2 sizes!!

I guess we need to always remember that these leotards are made for girls/young women who practice ballet or other type of dancing, and they are skinny. Remember Black Swan? Both actresses lost weight, down to 95 lbs, to play those roles. Those are the weight classes I believe these leotards are made for. I normally wear a size 2 so ordered a size 4 and it's still TOO SMALL. I've sent mine back and will order probably a 5. Where it's the worst is in the arms which are way too tight, to the point of nearly cutting off circulation in the arms and hands. I am concerned that the waist and chest might be too large going up another size but we'll see. Other than that the fabric is great and the design is great, too. They're just made for very skinny girls and women so need to consider that. It's not just this brand, either. I ordered Danskin and another brand which were also way too small (I ordered larger sizes in those as well, which was good). I won't make the mistake again.

Absolutely beautiful

Normally I'm a Capezio girl but I was looking for a burgundy long sleeve leotard, preferably with some nice details like pinched front and back, so this one looked just right to me. The material is thick and very supportive with a double lining in the chest area, the arms are rather tight and other than with most leotards actually long enough, the color is just like in the picture- I'm very happy with this purchase and also ordered it in lavender, pink and navy. About the sizing issue, I'm 5,4 and weigh 100 lbs and I've been practicing ballet for thirty two years, so I have a dancer's physique and usually wear a size 0 or 2 and I always need a size 5 in ballet leotards, Sansha, Capezio, Bloch, SoDanca, Freed, you name it, it's just the way they are cut, so bear in mind to size up accordingly.

Great but tight!!

I really didn't expect it to be THAT tight... I got a small and I'm 5'2 110 lbs so I;m pretty thin so I was a bit shocked that it felt tight for even me. I used this for a Rainbow quartz cosplay and while it did do its job I just wish I didn't feel like such a sausage casing. It's a really good product tho but I honestly say get a size bigger then what you are!

Nice, but not what I was expecting,

I like this leotard, but it wasn't really what I was expecting, The sleeves are nice and long. The only drawbacks are that the back is really low and the fabric is really thick. Physically, I have to wear a bra, so that will always show, which limits the times when I can wear it. Also, it's really thick fabric, so it's nice and warm in the winter, but I won't want to wear it once the weather gets warmer.

It's a great product!

my height is 5,2 ", weight is in somewhere between 105-108 lbs, i have a short torso and hunter green model size 4 (medium) fits me perfectly and furthermore it is the most flattering to my body complexion (i have relatively large shoulders and large breast (34 C). Fabric feels great. sleeves fit perfectly but a little too long on my arms. My regular size usually small but one size up did a great job for me. It's the best merchandize ever I have made so far. I bought this leotard for my dancing classes and do know yet how long it would last after laundries and wearing. But so far this item made my day, really! I would highly recommend it to everyone who wants to find something comfortable and becoming at the same time.

Odd proportions

I'm 5'3", 120 lbs. and I got the size recommended. I can get into the leotard (just barely), but the sleeves extend well beyond my hands. I have to roll back the sleeves by about 2" in order for them to extend only to my wrist bone.

Beautiful material, narrow sleeves

Most leotard knits stretch more in width than length. Such is not the case with this leotard's material, which meant that it fits my long torso well (following the measurements on the size chart). However, the sleeves are very narrow and long. I have skinny arms, so I'll be able to make this one work. I'll probably order up a size for wider sleeves if I decide to get the other colors. However, those with more average arms will want to consider a different style.

Cute!

Love Sansha leotards, especially the pinched details. I haven’t danced in a thousand years and was worried about getting back into it. This Leo is great, stays in place and feels comfortable and smooth. I am usually a size 6 in womens, 5’9” 135lbs
