It's a great door handler but it needs threadlocker

It's a good door handle. Looks great and works well. However, the screws do tend to come lose with usage and you have to re-tighten them which can be annoying. To fix this, you have to buy Loctite Blue 242 Threadlocker from the hardware store to prevent the screws from loosening with time. BTW this issue never happens with older Schlage door hardware. So yep, they don't make them like they used to. Sigh.

Good replacement knob

My bathroom knob just broke after many years. I saw that it was a Schlage, and did some Amazon research. I found this model, which seemed almost identical to the old one, so I ordered it. It arrived in 2 days as promised, and I had my building handyman install it for me. It took him about 10 minutes, and it looks great and works perfectly. Recommended if this is the style that you need.

Schlage Round Ball Bright Brass Passage door knob

Great product. Has nice secure installation. This is a great door knob for the hall closet, pantry, etc. any place that doesn't need a lock. It looks really nice. The color matches the already installed door knobs even though it isn't the same brand. Schlage is much better product then the builder installed ones. It was a little hard to get the screws started due to the round ball covering access to the screw until it has been screwed in a bit. I finally just started the screws by turning them with my fingers until it was far enough in to use a screwdriver. I will be buying more of Schlage door knobs to replace other ones in my house. The round ball is a really good choice if you have arthritis in your fingers. I first tried a round mushroom door knob, as it has a slimmer profile, but the small handle depth puts pressure on the fingers and really hurts. I returned that one and bought this round ball door knob. Check out the side picture of any door knob you are looking at to make sure it has a nice shielded interior and isn't just a center bar from one knob to the other and the two screws. Schlage is a good, well constructed door knob.

True Quality, Value & Beauty

Door knobs with this misty-brown oil brushed finish stand-out against a lighter door color, and visually meld into any door of a darker color. Years of use will enhance the misty-brown. The darker antique finish is much more stark against lighter colors, and creates a "shadow" effect on doors of a darker color. Over twenty years ago I chose Schlage locks with this finish for my professional office, and they are as beautiful now as the day they were installed. I chose this finish to replace all the deadbolts, keyed entry, privacy and passage door knobs in my new home. And I love the look they have given to both exterior and interior doors. Plus, these Schlage's fit into and join with the door snugly because of the two sides of the lock joined channel to slide. There's no looseness when the knob or latch handle is touched, and the locking/unlocking feels and sounds "right."

Great unkeyed lockset

Wanted to replace my old Schlage locksets with these as I just installed the Nest x Yale locks (deadbolts). Didn't want to have the new doorknobs lock so I have a completely keyless entry. The brass is very bright which is a beautiful contrast with the tan/cocoa decor of the house. Did not have to change out the latches or the jamb plates as the new Schlage fit perfectly with the new ones.

Good enough!

Exact replacement for builder grade interior door knob. No complaints. Went on easy. Opens, latches, locks, and unlocks properly. Looks just like my others. I don't imagine I should have to replace many of these in my household, but if I do, this is the one I'll reorder. Same model and same price at the hardware store, but I didn't have to mask up and wait in line and it arrived in a day. I call that a win.

I would purchase again. Easy install.

Never having changed a door knob before, I did some research on YouTube and it turns out these knobs are very easy to install once you see how they work. The Schlage Knob I received was certainly better made than the knob being replaced. I’ve had the new knob for a couple months now and I’m very happy with my purchase. The knob feels solid and turns smoothly with no wobble. Has a nice push button lock too.
