Makes installing a water softener a lot easier.
These let me be less careful about where the PEX ended. I found it easy to bend them to the right shape to fit where the pipes happened to be. The out pipe is in line with the old copper pipe, I could have used a few elbows to move it over to the left but with these I just needed to bend it round the inlet pipe. No problems with leaks, I just snugged the NPT connectors down. The sharkbite connectors can be a bit fiddley. I got the inner sleeve hung up one time and damaged it. So what I do now on PEX is remove the inner sleeve, then put a bit of silicon O-ring lube to hold it in place and insert it into the pipe, then insert the pipe with inner sleeve into the connector. Much easier to guarantee it is right.

Made my Water Softener Installation so much Easier
I bought these on the recommendation of a guy on youtube after watching his water softener installation on youtube. With these sharkbites, we were able to install the water softener ourselves, saving us lots of money. No welding necessary. These will connect to the copper pipes like magic, with no leaks. Love them!

So simple to install.
I replaced my water softener. I thought I could simply line up the old connector with the new water softener. Unfortunately that was not the case. I went to a plumbing store and was told I would need to cut the pex tubing and get the proper size connectors in stalled. The plumbing store did not have an exact fit but could make it work with extra parts, not the best option. Amazon had exactly what I needed. I was a little dubious about using a SharkBite connector, I mean how could something you just push on hold the pressure and not leak. Well I am here to tell you that this turned out to be one of the simplest plumbing jobs I have ever done. I cut the pex where I needed, pushed the SharkBite on and connected the other end to the water softener. Did that for both the in and out lines in a matter of minutes. Turned the water back on nervously, went back into the utility room. No leaks at all. It has now been in place nearly two months with zero issues. I highly recommend this product.

Perfect for my water softener installation
It was time to replace my 19 year old Kenmore water softener. I was quoted $400 installation fee from a plumber. These hoses saved me about $350. I just had to cut my pipes, deburr the ends and slip the SharkBite on. It couldn't be any simpler. Taking the burrs off the end is extremely important or you will cut the O-ring inside the hose. The SharkBite deburr tool worked pretty terrible. I ended up using 400 gritt sandpaper then followed it up with 1000 gritt. That gave my pipes a nice smooth end and polished the pipes themselves. I used the SharkBite tool to mark the depth on the pipes then just slid them on. Perfect leak free seal. My entire water softener installation only took about 30 minutes with these hoses.

Extremely rigid
This works as expected, however the flexible portion is extremely rigid, so you need to be really careful to over bend it a bit so that it isn't putting excess pressure on the most likely plastic fitting it is threaded onto.

Sharkbite should recall theses 1" flexible connectors
Sharkbite are great products. I pretty much ran my entire house water lines with sharkbite products. Most of them are very good quality and reliable. However, this one 1 inch × 1 inch flexible water heater connector is not the case. I bought two, one for hot and one for cold and did a water test. One was okay and one leaked immediately from the push-connect side. I pushed the connect to the bottom and could not push further. Also, I noted the rubber washers on the thread side broke apart after I removed the leaked one. I buy them brand new and have not put them in use yet. Just water testing. Luckily I have not turned on my gas to boil the water. I have reviewed other user's comments and found a couple buyers had the same issues as mine, water leaking and broken rubber washers after new installations. Looks like these are common issues for these 1 inch currogarated flexible connectors. I don't know how to ask for warranty for these. They are not cheap. I think Sharkbite should recall these 1 inch connectors before they made huge damages to users properties because these appear to fail very easily.

Gasket, EPDM, Washer missing
I ordered two of these. One arrived without the washer shown in the image. Returned one and took the replacement option. The replacement also did not have the gasket. Currently in the process of returning a second time and purchasing another replacement.
