Get This Tool

After struggling for years with the simpler disconnect tools made by SharkBite, I bought this one out of desperation. I had two SharkBite connections that I could not budge nor could my much younger and stronger stepson. The Pro tool was effective, along with my old-man (71 y.o.) super strength, in getting the connections to come apart by myself, even in one awkward location. Okay, the simpler tools work okay in a YouTube demonstration on a workbench, but for the real-world awkward situations, the Pro tool will work more quickly and more reliably. It's expensive, but it could save you from having to call a plumber or handyman. If you expect to do any more SharkBite plumbing, get this tool first.

One of those expensive specialty tools that make life 100 times easier

I went back and forth if I should invest in this tool or similar. I went with the shark bite brand as that was what I was going to use it for...removing shark bites. I am not a plumber but I am a do it your-self-er who gets called upon by friends and family any time they have a plumbing problem. More than a few times I have had to undo someone else's mistakes. Lets just say this tool makes removing shark bites about a 1/2 second, incredibly simple task. And it is well made and will last forever i am sure. Again...not sure I actually NEEDED it, but now that I have it, it is wonderful to use. I do not regret buying this tool.

Sharkbite fittings are expense so I dont want to throw them out.I had a few sharkbite fittings that I could not remove so I cut the pipes saved the fittings and have tried different ways in the shop to get them off. (Vice ,pliers,2 people). these worked on 6 different fitting in 5 minutes. So it has pretty much paid for itself already

God, thank you for this tool. Shark bite is not the best means of plumbing. It is even harder to recycle! Let alone everything in comparison people don’t see wrong with using it. Shark bite is massively easier to disassemble than anything I’ve seen. What I, the plumber, expect from everybody, is that I should present the best thing I can. Why would I use shark bite?

Works Grr8 !

Works so much better than previous ideas . Somebody finally took time when designing and testing. If you don't work in the field daily, just diyer. Just use the plastic C removal tool .

Not cheap for a reason

Works easy and works simple on all size shark bites I have had to deal with with no problems Have not had to work with any larger than one inch

I wish I got this a long time ago

Easy to use, and successful first time. I used to struggle removing shark bite fittings, I was using the plastic C "tool" and that was would not work at all in certain scenarios where you couldn't get leverage. I even made my own tool but it was clumsy and setup time was not acceptable. If you do plumbing , handy man , etc, this is well worth the purchase.

Great product, but not a one handed tool.

Great idea for a one size fits all tool. Build quality also excellent. Price a bit high for just a seldom used tool. Clamping force is easy to achieve and maintain, but then you need to be able to pull the fitting straight off. This is not really easy or possible while the tool is in use. You really need your second hand to pull straight on the tool to release the fitting. Still not really a bad tool. If you have ever had an issue of getting a fitting to release, then this tool should definitely make that a thing of the past.
