Awesome for travelers that want good coffee.

I use this thing constantly when I travel. It’s very easy to use and clean. And if you have a bigger container (jar, large cup, etc.) you can brew a whole pot of coffee with it. Fantastic for people that don’t like the filter pack coffee makers at a lot of hotels. Just warm up water in the microwave, pour into the filter, and in a couple minutes you have a great cup of coffee.

Great for camping

I love a pour over, but I didn’t want to have to bring filters and everything on my camp trips. I was very impressed at how good of a job these built in filters did. It made a great cup of pour over coffee when I was camping, and all I needed to do was add hot water, and coffee grounds.

definitely worth it

So easy to clean and to use! does exactly what it's supposed to and makes one to a few cups of drip coffee perfectly and quickly. you just need to rinse with some water to clean. I love this and wish I had bought it sooner.

A conservative/conservation approach to making coffee and getting away from paper filter products.

Small fines get through, but nice trade off when getting away from having to buy and use paper filters. Wet the grounds first and let drain, then complete the process by filling to the first line inside the filter and coffee is ready to drink! So easy to use and make multiple cups w/o discarding the 1st - 4th cup of coffee grounds. This is most certainly a conservative approach to making coffee in the morning at home or by the campfire. This coffee filter will no doubt last longer than my remaining days on earth. Excellent!

I would give it a 4.5… maybe 4.75

I wanted to replace my cheap plastic pour over with a durable stainless steel one. When I saw this I immediately had to have it. I love Stanley products and how they provide lifetime warranties. The set is great, the mug is awesome and the pour over is pretty bulky but whatever it’s not like I’m backpacking with it. I wanted it to be able to stand up to being thrown in a camp box or use at home. The set also looks great sitting on the counter top. I do like the fact I don’t need to use a paper filter but if I want the convenience of no clean up I still can. I just remove the metal sieve and place a paper filter inside, works great either way. Although the metal sieve does let a small amount of coffee grit through. I did a taste test and both ways preformed well (if it is weak you need more coffee grounds). Clean up without the paper filter was super easy, sort of like a French press situation. My negative comments are 1. The gasket on the bottom where the metal sieve connects and the coffee comes through is plastic, I reeeallllyyyyy didn’t want any plastic but it is what it is 2. This pour over would be awesome if it was built for either paper filter use or metal sieve, it works but would be nice if it was actually engineered for either so the paper filter stays in place better 3. Not super relevant but I wish the mug came with a lid that completely seals for travel. Overall recommend!

It's fine for its purpose but could be improved

One note on packaging - I almost threw away the mug lid with the packaging material - look carefully. This makes pour over coffee without paper filters that soak up the flavor. Follow instructions and it makes a good cup. Problem with all pour-over makers is that the act of the slow pour cools the water and doesn't make for a very hot cup of coffee. Even worse if you don't pre-heat both the funnel and cup with hot water or or you add milk/cream. As long as I have to heat water to pre-heat anyway, I make it too strong and add ~1/3 boiling water to it to get it hot enough for me. Minor design change would allow these two separate parts to nest into each other for packing. I would buy a separate filter attachment that would allow it to be used for loose leaf tea if it was available - as it is, the water goes through too fast to allow steeping.

Makes an excellent cup of coffee!

I just received this and made my first cup of pour over coffee. It makes an excellent cup of coffee! You can tell both the drip piece and mug are great quality and will last a long time. Easy to use and clean. Would highly recommend.
