Nice Cheery Piece that Adds a Bit of Color to Your Front Walk or Garden

The Garden Gnome Statue--Gideon the Garden Gnome is one of many Garden figurines that I use outdoors. Design Toscano as been making such things for years--their specialty at one time (and I believe currently) are gargoyle figurines--all of which are quite interesting with loads of character. Gideon is a happier sort, made of a lightweight plastic material that may need some weighting if you are going to set him out in the garden--he is hollow but there is no place to anchor the figurine with either rocks or soil, so some clever planning may be necessary if you live in an area like I do where sturdy winds blow off the lake. (In case of hurricane, I would think Gideon would have to take shelter either in a garage or indoors.) He's bright and colorful and makes a cheery welcome in the back garden--an bit of optimism that is bound to generate smiles.

Not exactly what I expected

From the photograph I was expecting this to be a fairly flat, though moulded, sign, but it's actually a full-on reclining garden gnome. This is by no means a bad thing, but the picture is quite deceptive so thought it worth mentioning, in case anyone was thinking this is something to be hung on a wall like a plaque. I am a fan of Toscano, and already have a bunch of their statues, some of which are dotted around the house even though they're intended for the garden, because they just look that good. This guy is no exception, providing a cheery welcome to your garden. You'll be surprised that for the size it's still quite light. Substantial enough to sit under it's own weight, as it is quite squat, and pretty durable. Not sure how the colours will hold up in UK weather conditions but other statues I have are still looking pretty good after a couple of years.

Bit of fun

I'm not a garden gnome person, but this I like. Well made from resin it's light and I expect it will be durable. Colours are great and it is well painted. Its a really decent size and I love the chilled out welcome. My son loves it which is the main thing and it brings a touch of character to the garden. Bit of fun

Great addition to the garden

Very jolly and cheerful, this Gnome has fitted in beautifully. The only downside is that he seems like lazy and doesn't move much :)
