I have worked on lawn and garden equipment for some ...
I have worked on lawn and garden equipment for some 20 years now and have replaced more PTO switches than I can count. Most of the safety switch circuits and the ignition circuit pass through the PTO switch so that the blades will only be engaged when all is right with the world. These switches take a lot of electric abuse, hitting bumps can cause a driver to bounce off the seat momentarily breaking the circuit for example. This kind of thing can cause surges to the PTO switch and cause all kinds of discomfort for the switch. I have used Stens parts for 20 years and have never had any problems with them. Stens is one of the top aftermarket suppliers of lawn and garden aftermarket parts out there. They are reliable and offer quality parts for most common manufacturers equipment. I won't put parts on my customer's equipment that I won't put on mine, and Stens is top quality.

Good Part
This switch replaced the OEM switch which had failed. This switch functions as well or better than OEM, was a direct fit replacement, and gave no trouble with terminal placement and fit. I would buy again with no hesitation.

Replacement switch
Bought to replace switch on an old Sears mower. Easy to replace, would fine.

Pefect replacement
I suspected a bad switch on our John Deere 265 riding lawn mower because the bat handle was bent and the blades would intermittently stop turning. This switch was easy to replace and so far the blades keep turning. I also like the safety feature of needing to lift the handle before pushing it up to engage the blades.

Perfect!
This unit was extremely easy to install, and worked perfectly with no issues. It is a plug and play unit for my John Deere 180 Lawn Tractor. Just make sure you install the plug, which has two wires in it, the correct way. Doing it incorrectly will cause the Seat Safety Switch to function improperly. This switch is great!

Direct replacement for my John Deere 318
Direct swap for a flaky switch on my JD 318 - took minutes to swap out and back to running.

It works
Item arrived damaged as it was packed in a thin plastic bag and the thin type of bubble wrap lined paper envelope. I had to carefully rebend 2 of the terminals back to their original shape so the plugs would fit. It does have the lever you have to pull out on before engaging and it works fine however to force needed to switch it on seems excessive. Both ways. It does work fine but no where near as refined as the original or some of the "cheaper" chinese made replacements.

Works Perfectly
Works Perfectly - installed it in minutes - & was back to cutting the Grass ! . . . . Woo Hoo ! . . . UPDATE: Just realized that there is a problem with this Switch. When the Cutting Blades are engaged, I can get off the Seat of my John Deere Lawn Mower & the Motor keeps running & the Blades keep turning ! . . . However, if I disengage the Blades (they stop turning) & I get off the Seat the Motor shuts off. This is Bass Ackwards to the way it should work ! - & as a result is a real Safety Concern ! - Now that I know, I'll have to be extra careful to not cut my toes off if I get off my Mower when it is running ! . . . Otherwise, though, it works fine . . . P.S. - It's not like I wired it wrong, the plugs only go on 1 way ! . . .

PTO switch
I purchased this one because I thought mine was bad but after installing it realized it wasn’t the switch but thePTO clutch. I still kept it in case later on I might need it.

worked immediately and resolved the engine cutting out issue
Seems that the PTO switch was faulty and intermittently causing the engine to stop; due to signal grounding resulting in the spark plug not firing. Initially Pointed to an ignition coil and related system, but it was the switch all along.
