It does the job

Its doing the job. This was the exact same brace my husband got for his orthopedist. He wanted a second one to switch out every other day to breath and help with wear and tear. It’s a little cumbersome. Velcro strips are a little too long. When folding back excess it makes things bulky. But otherwise it fits well. (Even for my husband’s size 14w feet.) The construction and materials are of high quality. Wearing it everyday is really helping to mange his pain from excess bone growth that is throwing off the alignment in his foot. Especially since his job requires him to be on his feet all day.

FULL Ankle Support

The construction of this device just gives excellent support/stability for playing sports where there is a lot of quick-turning on the ankles (e.g., tennis). The reason for only 4 stars is that the stitching on the covers of the Velcro strips comes loose after extended wear. Also, shipment through UPS does not go as smoothly as through the USPS.

Great ankle brace

This was recommend by my orthopedic doctor and it’s been great. I have three of them so I can swap them around as I wash them. Highly recommend!

Supportive but rigid

This is the exact same ankle brace for which my orthopedist charges insurance companies $100. It is very supportive, and when my ankle injury was acute, it was very helpful. Moving beyond the most acute stages of the injury, I was eager to move on to a different brace. This brace contains two rigid plastic inserts on opposite sides of the ankle. Combined with the other structural elements of the brace, it severely constrains your range of motion. During an acute phase of an injury, this may be exactly what you need, but wearing it for more than a few days started leading to other problems. My gait was so altered by the brace that I started having new pains in my knees, hips and back. I also started getting skin irritation where the brace was creating pressure or chaffing. In summary, I would enthusiastically support using this brace under the guidance of a doctor or physical therapist for brief periods, but I'd suggest you consider an off-ramp to a less rigid neoprene brace as a strategy for avoiding secondary strains, irritations and injuries.

Very complicated to wear

There are straps and velcro all over the place. Hard to tell what goes where. Bought two thinking they were like the ones I have previously owned only to find out its like a rats nest of wires strings and straps EVERYWHERE. Dont let the thumbnail photos fool you. There are definitely cheaper and better alternatives.
