Not impressed or worth the price

Not very impressed, the experiments were not well laid out and require multiple items from the household. The "glowing" material doesn't really glow much if at all. This was not much fun, the experiments we could do when we sat down were short, difficult to explain to my child, and the glowing portions just didn't really... Not good.

Great, fun activity for kids!

I purchased this kit as a gift for my granddaughters., (ages 5 and 8) they absolutely loved it. They had so much fun and were eager to show me the finished product. They loved how it glowed in the dark.

Didn’t glow

I might have done something wrong but it didn’t glow. I even bought a big black light because the dinky light that came with it didn’t work at all.

Poor Value and Lame Experiments

I was unimpressed with this kit. My children did not learn much and were not thrilled with this kit either. There are 6 experiments involving fluorescent pigments or the included UV flashlight. You need a lot of ingredients : tonic water, tape, AAA battery, 2 cups, various flowers with white blossoms,tonic water, white T shirt, and bark from chestnut branch. Bark from a chestnut branch? Yes. Really. The six experiments are really lame. They are: 1. Add water to the neon yellow and neon pink dye. Shine the UV light on it. 2. Make "chalk" from plaster and the neon dyes. Shine UV light on them. 3. Soak stems of white flowers in neon dye. Shine UV light on them. 4. Draw on paper with the "chalk" you made in Lab 2. Shine UV light on it. 5. Shine the UV light on various household items. 6. Cut 2 holes in the Thames Kosmos package box to make a UV light showcase for the "chalk". Um, No. These labs are were not well thought out. They are not educational or informative. The fluorescent dyes barely glow under the UV light. And the included UV flashlight gives off a low glow. We ended up using the UV light that I own for stronger light.
