Perfect for roller coaster lovers
Perfect for roller coaster lovers! My nephew absolutely loves roller coasters and building things so this was the perfect birthday gift. He’s 10 years old and very smart, but he was able to do this on his own with a little bit of help from his dad.

Really fun to work through the designs!
I'm older but I have endless fun building the various designs in this set. It's really good and educational.

Great hands-on learning
Perfect for problem-solving; hands-on; practical learning for children who have mastered assembling Lego's. This is a great next step. Teaches structural physics and basic engineering principals in a fun way, and is an opportunity for self-driven learning. Would also be appropriate for mentor/parent one-on-one time, if the child isn't beyond the Lego's stage yet.

A tremendous disappointment
For those expecting Lego-like quality, please keep looking. You won't find it in this set, nor is it compatible with Lego. It's a stand-alone building set of medium quality that's tedious to build and challenging to make work. My 6 year old, who's incredibly into roller-coasters, has played with it exactly twice. Each time we all just find it incredibly frustrating for two main reasons: 1) Some of the connections are two tight and some are too loose, so it doesn't really fit together very well. 2) Even if you do get it together, the spring isn't really powerful enough to send the coaster on a loop-the-loop. We followed the directions, added the appropriate weights, thought carefully about angles, and we cannot get the coaster to work. In short, if you're looking for an exercise in frustration that is not built to stand the test of time, this set is for you. For my part, I simply cannot understand all the 5 star reviews.

Happy son
So for his birthday we got him this cause he loves to build things. When he opened it up he went to building and he loves it. The best part is he loves to build things from his mind and he cares up with so many different things. So if you kid loves to build things differently get this for them

Frustratingly Vague and Occasionally Incorrect
Got this for a refresher in basic mechanical design. I thought a kid level kit would fill in the stuff forgotten since high school. Not really. It starts out with some good basics on stress and weight distribution but quickly goes quiet. By the second rather complex project, the instructions lack relevant details or even give inaccurate parts lists. Diagrams create confusion. As most of the beams and caps are all black and unlabeled, I color-coded the ends to alleviate the tedious sorting and searching for the correct open-ended 9-holed beam versus the visually similar 11-holed one. One wrong choice and it's a frustrating demolition to pluck out the misplaced part in the end. You need to be detail oriented, but the more precise you are the more the inadequecies will hamper you. I would recommend this to no one. Who wants to spend hours and end up with a wonky house or rickety bridge?

GREAT GAME.. but the pieces are already breaking..
i have been playing this with my 7 year old son. every week we make a different bridge. and then he would bring his cars and setup his highways.. the game is great, but the pieces break easily.. the connectors are rigid and not so strong. so unassembliying the pieces and then setting up a new bridge slowly breaks the pieces. i have been using superglue to put them back together.. and keeping the game because it is really good.

Loads of happy playing for our 6 and 9 year old kids (and adults!)
Wow! This was so much fun! The set provides about 20 challenges to build frames and tracks. After building about 3 of challenges with the help from adults our kids completely understood the principle and idea and could continue by themselves. It was hours of fun for everyone! Highly recommended.

Great Summer Project
I got this for my 10 year old who developed an interest in bridge building after a school assignment. Some of the string projects needed adult assistance but overall he had fun building the structures and learning some engineering basics.
