Amazing STEM Kit
Bought this for my 5 year old grand son, I know it is rated for several years older, but father and grandson took 1/2 of each evening putting the hand together. Father is a CNC machine operator. He exact comments were I have never seen a "toy" made with such precision. Instructions were very clear! And the best part is the grandson take good care of it and enjoys seeing what it can do.

Great gift for elementary school age kid
I have gotten this for several kids and they all love it. Some 8 years old could do it all by themselves, and younger kids would need help with the assembly of the hydraulic parts. The assembled hand are good quality and kids have fun using the cyborg hand picking and holding objects such as pencils, etc. Totally recommend this fun toy.

Excellent.
Needs an adult to help put this together and a patient child. It is a total learning experience and very well made. My daughter and her 9 year old took three days but they loved the time working on it and are so proud of their accomplishment. My grandson love working with it.

Such an exciting gift!
I ordered this for my son’s 9th birthday, after he saw it online and became immediately obsessed. He couldn’t wait to start building, and I had to stop him from ripping it open multiple times. This definitely required close parental involvement (for his age, at least)…he didn’t appreciate the value of the directions until he used the wrong size screw in an early step, and we had to undo several pieces. After that, he was VERY careful to read the guide (which was the best instruction set I’ve ever used - clean / easy to understand drawings), and he carefully filed off the little plastic nubs from each part after we snapped them out. The pieces are plastic, but we didn’t have any just break on us…but be warned, some pieces can’t be unsnapped after they are clicked together (this isn’t a project you can make multiple times). At one point when we were almost done, my son accidentally clicked two pieces together without placing them around a third piece…and they wouldn’t come undone. I tried to pry them apart with a little screwdriver, but I snapped off one of the tabs. He felt awful and cried, but thankfully we could fix that with superglue. We also had one piece with a manufacturing defect, but I reached out to the company, and they kindly sent us a replacement. I think it took 5 hours over 2 days to assemble, but it was worth it. I’ll re-emphasize: parental/adult involvement is necessary…don’t turn a younger kid loose with this project. We bought another one for my son’s best friend, but I think he worked on it alone, got frustrated, and put it away…hoping he didn’t snap together pieces that can’t be undone, because that will make the set worthless. Our experience was positive, though, and now my son is scouring the company’s catalogue to choose his next project, which he desperately hoping comes under the Christmas tree.

Very Fun Project (Product arrived damaged and previously opened)
Adding to my initial review, I will confidently say that this is a very fun project. The package didn’t look very good upon arrival but all of the contents seemed to be present. Our 7-year-old really enjoyed the process, though some adult assistance was definitely helpful. ——————- I bought this as a gift for my daughter’s birthday, so I was disappointed to find the front of the box missing a huge chunk of the label and the box ripped & repaired with large amounts of tape. It wasn’t a great presentation and it obviously appears to be someone else’s returned purchase. Hopefully all of the pieces are still inside, so we’ll see how it assembles and adjust the review if things go well. Nonetheless, this isn’t the condition in which a new purchase should show up.
