Inexpensive... would be good for light cotton and linen curtains...

I thought I order the 48" version... but I got the smaller ones. Not a bad price for two rods, but they are not very strong as you get to the length limit. I doubt that this would hold anything heavier than some light cotton kitchen-type curtains. These are about the same as those at the local stores, but you get two for less than 5USD... just make doubly sure that you are getting the correct size when ordering. I am rating these four stars. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary...

These were a bit thinner and shorter than I was expecting. Thin to the point that one bent when it was stepped on. Not sure how much weight these guys would actually be able to hold.

Tension where needed

As adjustable tension rods go, these are pretty basic. And what I mean by that is they do their job and function well. My use for them was behind drapes To hang hidden blackout panels. The one thing that concerns me is that nowhere in the description does it mention that these will not bend in the center and that could pose some problems if too much weight is introduced or if pulled by small animals or children. They are easy to adjust and can be used for a myriad of different things.

Light-weight curtains only

The rod will only hold light-weight curtains. Anything heavier will cause the rod to bow or slide down. I am using this for a sheer up under a thicker curtain. The rod does stay in place well with a sheer.

Basic Tension Rod

This is a basic tension rod best suited for rod pocket style curtains. I would get a decorative rod if using cafe or o-ring style hangers. It is quite stiff. Be careful not to extend it too far as it seems impossible to me to squeeze down more than a couple inches. Holds well.

Not recommended (texture on bars and gold-toned joins)

There are two things that I find disappointing about these rods. One is that the white part of the rods has a coating that is sort of textured and ends up looking like contact paper or something (although I think it's enamel/paint). Secondly, the 'join' from the larger outer piece to the smaller inner piece is gold-toned metal, calling attention to itself. When I picked these, I thought I was getting rods like ones I recently purchased from Amazon, with smooth white metal rods and a join that is also white (and blends in much better). My error. But they should maybe add more info to the listing, so that it's clearer what they're selling.
