Every time I go to a bar, or a friends house where they serve me a drink with a large cube I love it. I’ve bought a few ice molds of varying shapes and sizes, skulls, spheres, etc… they’re all larger than a basic ice tray cube but none of them have been as large as an old fashioned I would get at a classy cocktail bar. I needed to scratch that itch, and while I would have loved to get an insulated cooler style setup that would make clear ones I just don’t have an endless amount of space in the freezer. These make a nice large cube and since they stack up they fit well on a shelf for me. I grabbed a plastic bin to keep cubes in so that I can have enough should I accommodate guests at any time, and from what I can tell it is going to work out quite well for my needs. Getting the cubes out isn’t hard, but it does involve a fair amount of warm water which is probably the only downside I can detect since I splash it all over the place and have to wipe down my counter, but in the big picture it doesn’t hurt to keep those surfaces wiped and it’s a minor gripe if anything. I am used to silicone molds that just pull apart, so this is a new scenario for me, though the cubes do appear to not show seams which is different from those other style molds. At the end of the day it does the job, and it was priced right.

Great quality but the size is too big

These molds worked as they should. They were easy to make the ice cube and easy to remove etc. However, The cubes are too big for any of my glasses. I tried three different glasses and they didn't fit. I should have measured ahead of time, so it's partially my fault, but 2.25 inches is not anywhere close to standard. I did just measure the cubes, and they are a bit bigger than 2.25 inches.

Makes XL Ice Cubes. No surprises.

I bought the 2.5in Cube molds just to try them out in different glasses and pitchers. They are too large for every style of whisky glass I own. For me, they only fit in 14oz metal name brand, wide mouth tumblers I own. The cubes melt slowly and last for several hours in the tumbler. Downside is there is little room left for liquid, but it's fine for me and pouring a few ounces of beverage. I don't bother with attempting to make "clear" ice. That's not what I bought these for and are of little interest to me. I hope this helps.

Best Ice Cubes

I’m in love with these easy to use ice cube makers! I don’t have an automatic ice maker in my refrigerator so these are ideal. I have four, so two are always being frozen. I use one round and one square cube each, in my 32 oz insulated tumbler and the ice lasts close to 24 hours. Highly recommend!

Too large for a glass. Should be renamed punch bowl cubes

I like this brand. I have purchased many of their molds, but these colossal cubes are too large for a glass. I only have one glass in my whole house where the cube can fit in and it aint easy. I imagine these would be great for iced tea pitchers or lemonade or being at a picnic with some sort of large pitcher/punch bowl to try to keep it cold, but for drinking out of a glass these are too big.

Fun (though very large) Ice Cube Molds

These are pretty much what you would expect: a fun, novel ice cube mold. I gave Tovolo's Spherical Ice Cube Molds a 5-star rating, but decided to give these a 3-star review for three reasons: 1) They are extremely large. Too large, in fact, to fit in any of my glassware. And, I don't have especially narrow glassware. Since buying these, I've mentioned this problem to a few other people I know who have the same product, and they all mentioned having the same frustration. This is all anecdotal, but it seems like it's a pretty common problem. They do fit into some wider plastic cups that I have, but if you're looking for novelty ice cubes, you're probably not intending to use them in plastic cups. 2) The mold itself is very bulky. These just take up a lot of room in my freezer. I don't have the largest freezer, so this might be less of a concern for some. Just be prepared to devote a significant amount of room to these. Somehow Tovolo's spherical molds seem much more space-efficient than these. The mold-to-cube size ratio is seems much larger for these square molds than for the spherical molds. 3) They don't freeze as well as the spherical molds. I can't understand why, but it's much harder to get a perfectly-formed square out of these than it is to get a perfectly-formed sphere out of Tovolo's spherical molds. These tend to come out of the mold with at least one corner having a much rougher, sometimes elevated, "freezer burned" look to them. I've tried experimenting with the amount of water used, the temperature of the water being used, and the orientation of the mold in the freezer. Nothing seems to make a significant difference. My spherical molds almost always produce near-perfect results. Not sure why these seems to have a harder time. I think it has something to do with the way the plug fits into the mold. These are probably very small issues for most, and in all, they don't take that much away from the product. It's still a fun novelty item that I enjoy using on occasion. If I ever buy some wider-mouthed glassware, I expect that I will use these much more often.

BIG CUBES!!!

Overall I'm please with these moulds considering the price. The moulds provide oversized ice cubes approx around 5.5cm cubed and the shape of the ice cube can vary slightly from mould to mould if you overfill them. As for producing completely clear ice, well that takes quiet a bit of experimenting. I boil water out of the tap twice and leave to settle until warm before putting into a freeze. Still not a perfectly clear cube all the way through, but I think that is as much to do with using a domestic freezer than anything else. Using bottled or spring water makes absolutely no difference.

No tan fácil de usar, pero funciona perfecto

Me gusto el producto, sin embargo parecía que la caja había sido abierta, aunque los productos venían envueltos en bolsas individuales cerradas, entonces por eso no lo devolví. El producto no tiene instrucciones, pero solo es llenar el molde pero a un cierto nivel no muy visual, casi al tanteo para que no se derrame, lo cual pasa las primeras veces, pero si logra crear un gran cubo perfecto para cócteles o solo para tener un hielote en tu bebida.
