Quality has gone down

We’ve had several of the Cappa rods in brass for years and recently bought 1 more to complete our new living room. Umbra has significantly cut corners. The new one is much lighter weight, looks cheaper, and the finials weigh nothing. The color has also changed significantly; the new ones are a lighter, cheaper, less yellow brass color and it’s noticeable when hung near an older Umbra Cappa rod. I’m disappointed. Used to think these were the perfect CB dupes but I won’t buy them again.

Easy to install, comes with good hardware, looks like UO!

So I found these first on Urban Outfitters at $49.00 each. I needed 2 and was purchasing my curtain panels from UO as well so I wanted to see if I could find the rods cheaper first. Sure enough, I think these are the exact same and I was able to get 2 for $40.00, $9.00 less than one at UO! Super excited about that. I also purchased gold curtain rings from Amazon and they don’t match perfectly, but close enough for you to not notice. I’m extremely picky and the matching of the color didn’t bother me enough to not use them. These went up so easy and the hardware included is pretty good quality and are gold to match the rod. I find it common to have to replace screws that are sent with cheaper products as they strip easily or even break completely. For any momma who doesn’t have patience to wait for their husband to help or any solo hottie this is how I installed the rods by myself. - I used a pencil to mark where the holes needed to go on the first bracket, used my drill to mount the bracket. Inserted the rod (anchor it with the tension screw so the rod doesn’t slip around) and stretched it to the other side while holding the other bracket in one hand and a level in the other. Once I found where the second bracket needed to be to make it level I used my pencil to mark on the wall the screw locations. I unscrewed the tension screw and took the rod down (so it wouldn’t bend) then mounted the second bracket. Slipped the curtain rings on (I pre attached them to my curtain panel prior), and inserted the rod into the hardware, tightened both sides with the tension screws included on the brackets and viola! Perfectly level and super easy with one person. I’m sure most people know how to hang a curtain rod, but sometimes I find larger things to hang to be intimidating when you’re solo so I wanted to walk someone through so they know they can do it too :) Anyways, these look great, work great, and look exactly like the ones from Urban Outfitters. I would definitely recommend these and will probably purchase more for future renovations.

It was not in very good condition

It's okay for a small guest bedroom. Up close it does look cheap. I'm happy I got a used one but it definitely was not "very good"...more like "fair".

The image is much high quality than the product.

These look great in the images online. In person, they are good not great. They are not too sturdy. The length was shorter than described so one of my bedroom windows is in a very precarious position. Nobody touch the curtain! They look good. I'm not a fan of the bracket style, which is quite ugly. I had to position the curtain on either side of the bracket (because the bracket is a full ring around the rod) to hide it. I got the aesthetic I wanted; the price was a bit higher than I thought it should be.

Lovely, but the color of the brass will vary

I ordered several of these curtain rods in various sizes, and while the overall quality vs. cost is high - the style is classic, they arrived without damage and were easy to install - there is significant variation in color. Many of the brass rods I ordered (in the 33"-66" size) look nearly silver, the brass is so faint. This would be fine except that the comparison to the same brand rod in another size (66"-120") is so stark. The longer rods look much more rich in color/brass. Other than that, they are excellent.

Highly recommend

These curtain rods add a touch of class to my living room. The gold finish is a nice change from the usual black or silver. The rods are well made and easy to install. I love them!

Sleek, modern, perfect satin finish, good quality

The media could not be loaded. I like the look of these Umbra rods, the clean design means they suit all types of decor. The brushed gold finish is just right, not that tacky shiny brass. Every one of the drywall plugs which came with the rods broke when I tried to install them which made the job more difficult. I ended up positioning most of my brackets along a stud so that I wouldn’t need to use the plugs. Other than that, install was easy enough, my living room and bedroom were done in an afternoon. Happy with this purchase and would recommend.

Elegant, Modern, Sleek Curtain Rods!

I am totally obsessed with Umbra Cappa curtain rods. I ended up exchanging for the double rod in black, but they are so modern and elegant looking and much nicer than the clunky ones I previously had. I have a set of these in gold, and two in black and I could not love them more. They are perfect for holding both my regular and blackout curtains at once. Exactly what I wanted, and I've even convinced some friends and family to switch out theirs for these! They were easy to install, are sturdy but also not heavy. I did use my own screws, but I highly recommend these!

Gold curtain rods

The rods are more gold in colour than brass- so is a bit more yellow. But easy to install and great price point. Adds lots of style to your room.
