Wonderful! Best kids release!
Do not buy a more expensive release for your growing kid. My oldest (9) got a more expensive other name brand kids release and it works, but I finally got my 2 younger releases and bought both of them these. Once my older son tried one he also needed it as it works much better for children.

Good for small wrists and hands…
I ordered this for myself because of seeing online some people going with this for smaller wrist. Unfortunately I have smaller wrists and long fingers so it’s rather cumbersome for me to use. I still gave it 5 stars because it is well built and actually works for my wife who is smaller framed also this could work for my son when the time comes for him to need one for archery.

Great beginner release.
I bought two of these for my daughters for Christmas. They both got bows, and I since I spent a lot of money on the bows, I figured I wouldn't overdo it on the releases until we figured out what worked for them. I would say that you get exactly what you're expecting out of a release in this price range. It fits my youngest daughter perfectly, (10 years old, 4'9", big hands for her age). It did not fit my oldest daughter very well, (14 years old, 5'8" big hands for a woman). It did however do the trick and get her to the point where we knew exactly what to get her for her next release, so it absolutely served it's purpose and was a good purchase. The upsides: Inexpensive, durable, gets the job done, fits young children well. The downsides: Does not self close the calipers, meaning you have to manually push the calipers closed. Velcro strap close. I consider this a good purchase. My youngest has tried her sisters more expensive release and still prefers this one, and it fits her well. My only real complaint is the self closing. We have had 2-3 instances of an arrow getting launched mid draw because my daughter didn't get a full close on the D-loop. I would buy this again if I had to do it over.

Really Good Value
We bought one of each of the Patriot and Patriot Jr. They are identical except for strap length and pole length. So I'm putting mostly the same review in both. This is a fantastic release for the price. For under $20, you get a device that is functional as many of the $80 ones. I believe differences between this and the more expensive ones are: - Wider string clamp, though not by much. - Strap material... Nylon works for me though. - Steel vs. titanium - possibly less adjustable for trigger pull, etc. I may buy a more expensive one if I get deep into shooting, but this is 95% of what is needed at 1/4 the price. The trigger is great. NOTE: Some here complain about the hair-trigger. This is by design. Proper form is to put your finger behind the trigger as a safety during the draw. Then you aim and move your finger to the front of the trigger. Hold the aim on-target and just slightly contract your finger. You should have no tension in either hand, and if you have to pull something to get the arrow to fly, your aim will be off. Many experts will tell you that it is supposed to be a surprise when the arrow releases. Anyway, if you want a stronger trigger, this may not be for you. But your aim will improve if you adapt to the hair-trigger with proper form and process, rather than seeking out a different device that encourages worse form. My kids adapted quickly to this and love it.

very mediocre
I've owned multiple Trufire releases but this one doesn't meet the quality of their others. It works but very cheap design with a bent bolt sticking out by the palm, held in place by a nut. The wrist strap is rigid webbing with poor velcro attached. The mechanism itself works great but it's mich cheaper than others because of all the other materials and construction. I wouldn't record this if your looking for a quality release that is comfortable for a new shooter and doesn't scratch their face when they anchor. if it's abrasive they won't hold a solid anchor and build roer shooting mechanics. If you want to save some money and get something that just checks the box then this is fine.
