A good looking quality jacket that's both very flexible and practical!
This is a quality jacket with flexibility and practicality in mind. Basically this jacket was designed to be worn with other layers so it can be adapted to most environments and temperatures. The exterior is a soft shell that is water and wind resistant. The interior is lined with a light layer of fleece that keeps you warm in mild temperatures around 55 degrees. The fit is true to size in a loose cut so you have good mobility even if you wear additional layers underneath. Adaptability: The jacket by itself can keep you warm up to about 55 degrees (This also depends if you naturally run hotter or colder). When the temperature gets cooler, you can simply wear a light fleece, hoodie or insulated jacket underneath without issue as the loose cut of the jacket is made to accommodate this. There are velcro wrist straps that easily adjust to each user's fit and has no problems accommodating gloves. There are zippers along the sides of the jacket that open up to accommodate a waist pack or backpack (if you choose to wear it underneath). Adding a hood would be the only upgrade I would suggest so you can wear it in tougher conditions like extreme cold or rain. Flexibility: This jacket works with many different activities including hiking, cycling, and casual wear. During hiking, it has enough pockets in the front, rear and arms to carry more than your basic essentials and helps to disperse the weight well. On hiking trips I use to bring a small pack to carry snacks, water and other essentials, but with this jacket, I can simply disperse these items to all the different pockets. During colder temperatures, I like using this jacket when I'm commuting by bicycle because it gives enough mobility to wear gloves and doesn't get in the way when I'm peddling. You can also unzip all the zippers half way to let in more air to cool you down if you get warmer. Pockets: This jacket doesn't just have lots of pockets, but pockets that are very well engineered to accommodate a variety of items in all shapes and sizes. The front pockets are wide and tall which can fit an ipad mini or taller items like a water bottle (keep in mind if you sit down, these items will bunch up which you'll need to unzip the sides to compensate). The front pockets are also double zippered which allows you access either from the top or bottom which is very handy if you just need to grab an item without the rest falling out or just warming your hands at the bottom. The rear pocket can fit bulkier items like a light jacket so it doesn't get in the way, but an insulating jacket that can compact itself into a small bag would be ideal. The arm pockets are easy to open and close and is large enough fit items such as cell phones, small first aid kits, tissues....etc Conclusion: Overall Tru-spec makes pretty good quality products at very reasonable prices so there's a lot of value to be had. I haven't noticed any weak areas like stitching or zippers in the jacket so it's been holding up fine for the past 2 years. A few other tactical companies make similar jackets, but I recommend this one as you get quality without having to pay an arm and a leg! Being able to stick on patches on either side of the arms is a nice touch to further customize your jacket! Great balance of function and looks!

Awesome Jacket
I love this jacket!! Other reviews will tell you to forget this jacket but, I have to disagree. I really like the double zipper feature on the front hand pockets. If it's raining or snowing, I want to be able to keep as much water out of the pockets so, the zipper from the bottom will help with this. I like the Velcro patches on the arms; nice for placing morale patches or whatever you want with Velcro. The bicep pockets are nice as well; lots of room in them to store stuff. I usually keep a small flashlight in the left bicep pocket (Fenix LD22). I've not tried out the rear tube pocket yet but, I can see where extra gear could be stored there; it's a very large pocket. I could see myself potentially carrying a fleece cap or gloves in the back pocket because they would be readily available as well as out of the way. It's just nice to have options and to keep your front hand pockets empty to reduce bulk. I have never had a jacket with the side zippers and snaps for accessing my firearm but, it certainly does come in handy. I was at the range this weekend and had my full-sized Springfield XDM in a Blackhawk Serpa Holster and it was completely covered and concealed. Then, I unzipped the side zipper and let the jacket fall to the sides of the holster; I had complete access to the firearm and the jacket never got in the way. I can say that most of the reviewers previous to me were right about the jacket not being the warmest thing on the planet. It was about 30 degree at the range this past weekend and I knew it was cold out the entire time. It wasn't super cold but, another layer would have helped out. I also don't like the way the sleeves are; they are extra long. I'm kind of a stumpy guy and my arms are kind of short so, I'm probably not a perfect example. The sleeves are extra long for me and they were kind of tight but, I like that they are tight. The tighter sleeves allow me to move a little better without all of the bulky mess that I experience with fleece jackets and rain jackets. As far as sizing goes, I suggest you get one size larger than you usually wear. I'm a big guy and I usually wear a 4XL in Nike clothing. I usually wear a 3XL or 3XLT in Cabela's clothing. So, I was worried about sizing and called Tru-Spec. After talking to them, I decided on the 5XL and am glad I did. The shoulders and arms are tighter than I'm use to and the bigger size helps out a lot.

I wish they would offer it in a tall length like their other products
Tru-spec makes quality gear, and this is no exception. Only issue i found is the fit to be a bit odd for me. I’m 6’5” 260lbs muscular build with very broad shoulders and arms. In order to get a proper fit for my body type I must either purchase tall size garments or order XXL size which still leaves the length too short and makes the belly area too wide for me..... I wish they would offer it in a tall length like their other products!!! But I won’t deduct any point because of that!

Talla
Mido 5’11”, peso 200lb +/-, 43” pecho y 36” cintura.

Tru Spec Wins Again!
I couldn't be happier with the product. I work at a resort in the security department and I'm out in all forms of weather. From what I've experienced so far with this jacket it's well made, durable, and best of all comfortable. I find it fits better than the similar Condor Phantom softshell I had originally tried on, its not as stiff, which enables a wider range of comfortable movement.
