Intuitive Design and Easy to Use

I have owned my Uniden Atlantis 155 Since 2021. I have been very happy with the simplicity of use. The battery charge lasts for several days. I also keep it on 1W and do not scan channels often which wear down the battery life. I have also found that if I charge it inside with an electrical outlet adapter I get a better charge.

Great price point for the functionality, HOWEVER: 1) the only supplied way to recharge the Ni-MH batteries is a 12vdc cigarette lighter plug adapter; 2) it reportedly takes "13 hours" using it to recharge the batteries; 3) given the instructions state to disconnect when after 13 hours, implies that the must not be any charge cutoff or overcharge built in.... so cannot leave plugged in gone if you even happen to have a female cigarette plug socket. Aside from that has good specs, good functionality, seems well built and works well so far.

Does NOT come with anything to charge it with in your house..

The device itself seems good, but I do not have a 12v cigarette lighter in my house.. Why not add even a 12" USB to DC adapter cable so we can charge these when not out on the lake?

Unit works great, charger did not last 1 month

Unit works awesome, however the DC charger did not last a month so be prepared to find another charging option if you get this handheld.

Works well, but I don't like the charging

Seems to work fine, but I so fay I've only used it for weather and emergency monitoring. It only came with a 12V cigarette lighter charger, which is unfortunate. I'd like to keep it charging when not in use, but my sailboat doesn't have a 12V outlet so I have to charge it in the car. Weirdly, it's doesn't tell you when it's full, so there's no way to know if you can stop charging it.

Exactly what I was looking for

I received my order just in time to take it with me on an ocean kayaking trip. Before heading out, I wanted to get acquainted with it. Needless to say, after reading the manual, inserting batteries (more on batteries in a sec), and stepping through the channels, I was ready to go. Literally, it is that easy. Just read the guide, it will step you through the way. What I like is that this radio offers a triple weather alert. Meaning it's monitoring multiple channels every 2 seconds. I realize that is more for boats/vessels, but I feel safer knowing it is available to me. I also like the big clip that you snap on the back. I tried it on my PFD (*before heading to the water), it fits perfectly by clipping on with no problems. One thing to be mindful of. DONT USE THE BATTERIES THAT COME WITH IT! Through the setup and learning process, which requires you to turn the radio on and off for a few settings, depleted the batteries to halfway. This could be a danger if you're out on the water and have an emergency and need to make multiple calls for assistance. So, I switched out the crappy batteries and inserted my own. I played with it for like 20 min just to see if maybe my unit was faulty etc., or if it was the batteries. Sure enough, after all my turning it on and off, changing backlit color (which is super cool btw), the batteries I inserted did not drain the battery. So my radio is fine, it was just the batteries that come with it are terrible. So take them out, replace them with new batteries, and go enjoy your day on the water. Trust me, you will feel much safer having this awesome radio with you. Cheers.

New/ Faulty

I purchased this radio on Amazon UK, but it came from the USA, on air testing to the local coast guard and port, both reported distorted audio. On close inspection of the radio, the battery cover screw was worn, and the mount for the belt clip showed signs of wear. I do not think the radio was brand new, but a returned item. Amazon gave me a full refund. I have now purchased an Icom.

Buen radio lo único que no me gusto el forro de la antena que no es intercambiable es de goma no se cuanto vaya a durar pero al romperse tendré que deshechar el radio

Me gusto , es el segundo uniden que tengo , lo uso para pescar en kayak , liviano , practico , resistente al agua , flota y es muy útil , me costo 1500 es un buen precio
