Thinking about buying these shoes? Read my thoughts about them.
I was a little leery about spending $160 for these shoes with out trying them on. But I decided to buy these and the 75% less Deer Stags Men's Greenpoint $40 black loafers to compare them side by side. These shoes were the best fitting and "feeling" loafers I had tried on in many moons. They have excellent arch support and my feet just slide into the shoe so well. They have worn well and I intend to purchase another pair as I have worn these shoes almost daily for a year and a half. The material is supple not hard and unbending like the $40 Deer Stags Men's Greenpoint loafer for which I had to buy a shoe horn to put on those shoes. I can tell you that I have actually enjoyed wearing these shoes and the other Deer Stags Men's Greenpoint loafers pair I relegated to wearing outside performing activities in which I did not care what happened to them. Brass tacks: Buy the shoes if you want excellent fitting black loafers that your feet will comfortable wearing.

Pleasantly surprised!
This shoe product is very comfortable. The leather lining prevents any annoying pressure points. The collar that hugs the ankle adds to a good feel and fit. The style is pleasing to the eye with just enough design details to make it interesting. The color is a mellow brown. This shoe has my vote!

Seems to be about 1/2 size large
This is my second pair of these and I love them. Very comfortable and durable. I ordered the same size as before but after wearing this pair a couple of days they seem to be slipping on my heel. (Maybe a half size too big). Otherwise probably the most comfortable dress shoe I have ever worn.

They break in just fine for wide feet.
I always have problems with my 11.5in wide feet. Normally I order a half size up, but since the loafer style runs long, I ordered the wide shoes in my exact length. I usually avoid this style of shoe, because my feet don't fit in loafers. I was worried that when the shoe arrived, my feet would not fit at all, but I was able to wear these shoes. It was somewhat tight, but that is what I expected, given my past experience with my feet. I bought a shoe stretcher, and this did the job. With the shoe stretcher, and some wear, the shoe now fits perfectly with room to spare. As for style, I love it. It is a really great looking shoe that is well made. I get compliments. My old pair of Clarks lasted years -- in fact, I still wear them. But this is a classier style, and looks really clean & sharp. If you have wide feet, but are worried about loafers -- I recommend getting the shoes in wide, and consider a shoe stretcher. Though you may not need a stretcher, because the shoe breaks in just fine. When I take them off at night, I use cedar shoe trees to maintain the shape.

Great, affordable slip-on loafer.
I have pretty significant plantar fasciitis. Immediately after purchasing these, I wore them for 3 consecutive days during which I had to stand and walk for over 6 hours, non-stop. These shoes were about as comfortable as I could have asked for in a "dress shoe". Note: I have very flat, wide feet and these fit very nicely in my normal size, so if you have feet on the narrower side, you may want to consider going a half-size down.

Excellent Shoe!
Been wearing this brand exclusively for 8+ years and I appreciate the comfort these shoes provide. The are sleek enough for formal meetings and casual enough for classroom teaching. I always look for the best price as Clark’s are expensive, which I why I got this pair - I usually get them at Clark’s. I wear these 5 days a week 10 hours a day and they last almost all year with only the sole wearing out. Note: I do maintain them weekly by cleaning and polishing which probably helps the lasting look and feel of the uppers.
