was a good replacement latch
needed a replacement latch for a toolbox for my grandson left to him by his father who passed away when he was 3 years old. I clean it up and replaced the latch. My grandson got tears in his eyes when my daughter gave it to him.

Would work great for lighter tool boxes. Not recommended for tool boxes over 30lbs
I used these two latches to replace two broken latches on my Stanley 3 Drawer Tool Chest. The latches are solid and seem well built. My only issues with these latches is that the rectangular section, that locks the upper and lower part together, is not welded or joined together. The rectangular section is just bent into shape and the ends just left pressed next to each other. So if using this on heavier tool boxes like mine (>30lbs), the ends of the rectangular section tend to open out, allowing that latch to become undone. Almost had all my tools spill out of my tool kit because of this. All that being said, these would still work great on lighter tool boxes and actually still work fine on mine. Ever so often, when the rectangular part opens out, I just remove it, bend it back to shape and reinstall. That is usually fine for a next couple months. Ideally, the supplier should add a weight limit to the description of the product to assist buyers in selecting the right product for them.

Not bad but...
The product looked good but the quality is below expectations. I sued them to replace the latches on a camera case, after a round trip flight both latches needed to be replaced as they were bent out of shape.

Not very sturdy --
Not as sturdy as I expected. The metal is soft, so care must be taken during installation to avoid disfiguring the pieces. It did the job for my small project, but I would not recommend using them if sturdiness is required.

Great for keeping closet closed for small kids.
I used this to keep my small kids from going into closet that they must keep out. I have bought some of these in past that came with screws. These did not so one star less. Good overall but not really heavy duty.
