Excellent...but lose the sound diffuser.

Got this on a half off sale (47%) and couldn't be more pleased. Same capacity as my current shop vac, lighter weight, but a half more HP and the blower attachment is a very nice addition. The hose is quite large compared to my nearly 30 year old model and the suction is as expected for a 5 HP peak motor. However, ditch the sound diffuser, as it does seem to negatively affect the suction power. I didn't perform any major scientific experiment, but it was pretty clear the vac performs slightly better without the diffuser attached. If your concerned about the potential noise, I'd like to remind you it is a "Shop" vacuum...not a sewing machine. Even without the noise diffuser, the blender and coffee grinder in my kitchen are far louder. In other words, you won't require hearing protection. Now, lets see if this one will last as long as its predecessor.

Powerful

Bigger than I thought it would be, but that's OK. I've used it several times for car vacuuming and water clean up. Handles all chores like a champ. The detachable blower is really a plus that I have used several times. The only minor downsides are the short cord (need to use an extension cord most of the time, especially with the blower) and the clunky tool storage around the exterior of the base. They don't stay on well and get in the way while moving it. Overall I got what I wanted and it performs well.

Did not come with a manual or any other paperwork. Not sure if it is standard for Vacmaster not to have included manuals but there are some parts to this vacuum that I’m unsure on how to properly operate. I googled and found a manual online for it. No big deal but a little confusing.

SIMPLY AMAZING!

This is my new favorite toy! I never bother to write reviews, but this thing deserves one! Setup is extremely easy! The filters are a little interesting to figure out at first, but once you do it’s easy to swap them out! The noise is a bit on the loud side but would expect that from a machine this powerful. Would equate it to a little louder than a heavy duty household Vaccuum but less loud than a leaf blower. The wheels swivel and seem to maneuver easily. The motor/top section snaps on and off easily as well. I used this on the wet vac setting to unclog my AC drain line and boy did it unclog it! I plan to use it to vacuum my car tomorrow! For the price, this thing is a steal! Buy it now!

Works super well!

The only problem with this is it is big which can make it awkward to move around and super heavy when full. Insulation will gum up the filter pretty quickly vastly reducing suction, but after shaking off the filter it works great again! I usually use this for construction debris, but when my cousin's basement flooded I used the wet filter. It would fill all 12 gallons in about 30 seconds!

Bought a second one

I love this vacuum. I lost some of the accessories, and it made more sense financially to purchase a second vacuum instead of an after market accessory package. I caught it on sale and it was only $10 more for the kit with the vacuum.

Powerful Vac

I really like this vac for its suction power. The body is sturdy and not flimsy and should standup quite well. The Vac is intended to also double as a handheld blower which blows a powerful blast of air. I found it difficult to remove the blower unit though and even more so to reinstall it - it is a very very tight fit, hence the four stars. I simply reverse the hose to the blower side of the Vac body which suits my purposes, instead of removing it to use as a portable blower. I highly recommend this Vac and would buy one again if the use of the portable blower feature is not required.

This thing is absolute trash

I'm amazed at all the great reviews on this thing. It's absolute garbage! I was in my attic with this to clean up and the vac wouldn't pick up staples that were on the floor. Regular old T50 staples! I had to pick things up and feed them down the hose! I figured there was a step skipped in the assembly and disassembled the whole thing and put it back together and it was still awful. My father in law's 25 year old craftsman beats this one in every way! The new craftsman I bought is also way better.

Better than I thought it would be.

I just received this today and have used it for an hour. First impressions. The suction is great. The tool storage is done well and the reviewer who said his wheels fell off must have missed the step about screwing them on. I’m using it for general cleaning and on a band saw and 4” belt sander. I will be back if it fails on me but so far it’s excellent value for me.

Very Happy

Larger than I wanted, but that is not the vacuum’s fault. It works very well. It can handle some tough jobs. I was particularly impressed by how easily it sucked up broken tile that had fallen into the floor ducting. I didn’t think I would use the detachable blower feature. Boy, was I wrong! It is so easy to detach and reattach. I use it to blow out my carport all the time. I watched the price before I ordered the vacuum, as I noticed it fluctuated regularly. I was patient and got a good deal. I’m happy with my purchase!

Great machine.

REVISED... my machine just won't start. Not sure if it's the switch, but trying to find about filing a warranty claim is nonexistent. HELP! Until i get a replacement, i will advise people to avoid this company. This a machine the has lots of power at a very good price point. I have not used it to suck up water as of yet, But sucking up dirt and sawdust is Even so much better then I expected. The layout of how this machine is designed is fantastic.
