Long-Lasting and Unique Scent

Village Candles are known for producing long-lasting candles with great fragrance throw, and the Warm Buttered Bread candle is no exception. However, it's important to note that the unique scent of this candle is what sets it apart from others. While the scent does resemble bread, it's clearly more artificial, with strong malty and yeast forward notes. It's not quite like breaking open a fresh French baguette - it's more like smelling the crust of bread, and only the crust, if that makes any sense. Also, I didn't really detect any buttery scent, which was a bit disappointing for me. Don't get me wrong, the scent is not bad at all, and I did enjoy burning this candle. However, if you're expecting a candle that smells exactly like freshly baked bread with a buttery aroma, you may be slightly disappointed. Overall, I would recommend the Warm Buttered Bread candle for its longevity and good fragrance throw, but just keep in mind that the scent is not an exact replica of real bread, and the buttery smell may be missing.

Reminds me of Mom!

To me there are very few scents that can match the aroma of fresh baked bread. This candle totally nails that smell. I am reminded of hearing my mom call us, running into the kitchen to see several loaves fresh from the oven sitting on the counter. It's a very comforting scent. "Get it while it's warm, the butter will melt easier."

Great Scent but...

To all the candle lovers out there like me I would like to share about the village candles. I absolutely love the different scents the have. They are cheaper than the yankee candles but they burn terribly. The wax starts to cover the wicks. I am constantly dumping the wax and reliant them. I like to smell my candles when lit. I can't afford the yankee candles as I go to the grocery store a day after am broke lol. If you all want to smell a candle try the oder eliminator candles. More bang for the buck.

I got a lemon!

My wife loves these and this is the only one she uses. Just ordered four of them and when I unpacked them one was lemon scented how about you guys send me the hot buttered bread candle and I’ll give you the lemon back. Otherwise we love them

Definitely the scent of homemade bread

This candle is so unique. Absolutely smells like there's a loaf of homemade bread baking in the oven. The scent travels throughout the house and I could not be happier with this candle. Five star!!!

One of my favourite candles EVER

I'm on my second one of these Buttered Bread scented candles, and it actually smells like buttered bread. For someone with physical issues eating bread, I feel like some of my cravings are satisfied just lighting this up. Sounds dumb, but it honestly smells fantastic.

I was going to return but glad I didnt

I was going to return this candle because the lid area came in broken and it didn’t smell like much. Seriously didn’t smell anything when it wasn’t out. I got it for a good price so though hey I will just put a plate under and burn it to see if there was any smell when lit. YES SMELLS LIKE I HAVE BEEN BAKING ALL DAY. Now I sit back and have a special coffee and enjoy! LOVE this candle will be in our rotation.

Smells Fantastic

Candle smells fantastic! Like baking bread pretty much. It has two wicks so burns very evenly which is great too. The only thing I’d say is it doesn't last as long as some candles so we have almost used it all already (as we burn it most nights). Despite this, I’d still buy it again just for the smell of bread it gives off.

Smell made us feel sickly!

I love candles and who doesn’t love the smell of freshly baked bread but this candle stinks horrible. It in no way reminds me of bread. I’d describe it as on off beer rancid smell. Honestly, it made me and my daughter feel really sick. We tried it for two burns and I couldn’t face waiting for it to pool the second burn as it is so foul. Sorry!
