Great Winch and easy install

Product quality of the Warn winch is amazing. Built like a tank. Overall install was simple with the right tools. Use YouTube for install tips if it’s your first time doing the install. Also if hooking up to a Wrangler JLU than buy a 8mm-1.25 flange nut ahead of time to connect the ground wire to the battery terminal with ease.

Perfection

The best on the market. It will save you when you get stuck. Only issue is the synthetic rope is very difficult to thread through the opening in the drum to set the puck. I cannot stress enough how difficult.

It saved me, it'll save you too!

"Most people who buy a winch never use them" is a phrase I hear thrown around a lot. It might be true for all I know. For me, however I bought this winch hoping I'd never have to use it, or if I did it would be to save a stranded minivan in the snow. Last week I came across a small mud puddle, maybe 2 feet deep at its deepest, and I decided (against better judgment) to cross the puddle just for fun... when I got caught high centered on a hidden mud mound and was suddenly buried up to the frame in mud, stuck, spinning my tires... alone... with no cell service for at least a half hour drive. That's when Warn came to save the day! This winch did exactly what it said it would do: Save my stupid self from getting into too much trouble. I was able to pull myself the entire 20 feet of the puddle, dragging my frame along the mud and out the other side, no problem. Without this winch I might still be stuck in that puddle drinking my own urine. Pros: It delivers on its promise to be able to winch you out of almost any problem you get yourself into. Solid, proven Warn reliability for a good peace of mind. Confidence to go places you would have normally passed up. Cons: Install is a bit of a PITA It gives you confidence to go places you would normally pass up. Without this winch I would have left that puddle alone, so I guess in a way this Winch got me stuck too.

A whole lot of winch!

This Zeon 10S winch is praised all over the internet for being made in the USA, long lasting, and able to deliver the goods when needed. The box is large and heavy, but packed very well. The included heavy-gauge wire was long enough to get from the (Jeep) battery to the bumper without tight routing, and includes a protective sheath for the positive lead. Mounting something like this can be a real challenge. The mounting nuts are on the bottom, and have a tendency to fall out during install. Consider taping them into place for an easier time. The included remote is fine, and looks like it will hold up to rough use, but at this pricepoint, it would be nice if wireless became standard. The synthetic rope is excellent, but note that it comes 'separately' in the box, and you will need to thread it onto the drum yourself. This is not as easy as it sounds, so consider routing it through the fairlead (!) and bumper before you install the winch. Of course, this is a 'centered' winch (fairlead in the middle) so make sure you have room for it. It takes up 100% of the Rubicon-X bumper, with the Maximus mount plate, and still needed the vacuum pump to be relocated. It's a really wide winch. In the end, it's all worth it. The low profile controller sits well in the bumper and the machinery is all business. Still waiting for my rebate, though. (These things go on Warn rebate very often, so wait for it.)

Cable lacks strength

The winch itself works well. If there is a metal cable available for this winch, we have not been able to find it. It appears that only the cable type that comes with it is the one that is available. That one broke within a few months of moderate use. We replaced it with a similar cable from Harbor Freight, and that one has held up better. The winch only would be 5 stars, but the cable diminishes the rating.

Great Winch!

I've used this winch more than a few times. Never had any issues with it. The only gripe I have is that the plastic covering the logo melted off in the sun, and the logo faded pretty bad over a couple years. The plastic covering the terminals also faded pretty bad. It's looking a little rough, but it still works great. Would recommend a winch cover if you can find one that fits. Four stars because it's way too expensive compared to other 10k winches.

Amazon is wrong. Fits my 1988 Toyota pickup

The media could not be loaded. Seems nice, not sure how it’ll do. Didn’t pay for it as the gooberment is giving out free money so this was a stimulus investment. Time will tell, Amazon says it won’t fit my truck but it sure does. Did have to utilize the contactor relocation kit which was 100 bucks more but who’s counting.

purchase this product in January 2015, used 2 times. The first time was to stretch the rope, the second time was to pull a truck out of the mud, without any issues. The third time was to winch a 900 pound moose out of the wood, the winch failed after the first 50 feet, only thing left was clicking sounds, winch would not go forward or backward, it was simply dead. Got in touch with the company, they told me to send to winch to one of their Drive products partners for testing and fixing. This at a cost for me between $500 and $600 to take the winch off and put back on, this including shipping. I purchase warn because a the reliability and dependibility and of course the life time warranty. My first impression was a good looking winch that should give a very good peace of mind, From what I know now the winch is not worth the price I paid for it. 11-07-2017 Since I hade the winch fixe a year ago, I am very satisfied with it now, use many since it was repaired. I think that product failures are inevitable, No more issue with the wincg Oct 19,2016 Just recieve my winch back from Drive products. I did send a letter to Warn, and also talk to the head guy in Warranty. It was nice of him to give an extansion of my one year warranty on the motor, which was the part that failed, he did his out of courtesy, was very nice of him. It would had cost me over $600.00 to replace the motor. He also told me that I had to run the winch once a month, get line out and in. This does not give the confidence that I should have at this point, maybe I be satisfied once i use the winch 2 to 3 time without the motor failing again, but again i could use it 4 the fourth time and everything could happen again. I think that they knew about the problem or at least they now know and do something about it. I will follow up on this.

I was amazed with the service

First of all, I was amazed with the service. The unfortunate circumstance is, I have yet to test the merchandise. I am extremely impressed with its features and what it has for pulling power. I do have friends who have the same winch I purchased and are happy with it. Thank you. Laz
