Great!
We camp and frequently the potable water is hard and tastes pretty awful. We have a separate dual-filter setup outside the camper to filter a variety of contaminants from the water going into the fresh water tank but it picks up the worst plastic taste from the tank. We chose this Watts countertop filter and have been using them for 6 years now. It is amazing. No foul tastes at all. Highly recommended!

Missing the center hole.
For some reason the center hole for the flow of water thru the filter was missing from both filters, on both ends. They had a small center drill peck that provided a location to drill it out to match the hole size in the filter I pulled out. Not sure why the hole was missed but this would have caused a lot of problems if not caught. Make sure to check before you install.

TWO DIFFERENT PRODUCTS, two different levels of quality
The Watts Premier 101013 is an excellent, high quality filter suitable for hot water as well as cold, and it is fully certified by NSF for highest quality filter materials. it usually retails around $20. It is the 1 micron filter named in the title of this product page and described in *the first paragraph* of the description. The problem? Simple: That is NOT what most sellers are stocking here! The product most of the sellers here are selling is a budget, imported model called MAX VOC 957. It is NOT NSF certified for high quality filter materials. It is a 0.5 micron filter which claims VOC removal, but since there is no certification OR testing, one can only guess if that's true. It is described in the second section of the product description/details. It is also distributed by Watts, but it's definitely not under Watts Premier label. It's a cheap filter retailing around 10$. I tried the Watts Premier 101013 a couple years ago. And it was excellent. The TDS meter read under 50 for over a month of frequent use on hot & cold water lines. Zero complaints. Last month, I tried the MAX VOC economy model, because I received two of them when i ordered from this product page. (I was not thrilled, but decided to give them a try - no wonder the price was so good, right?) They are also rated for water temp well above my hot water line temp (150°) but sadly the filter hooked up to the hot water line only showed a low TDS for two weeks, then it jumped up to over 200 TDS (presumably as the coconut carbon material started to disintegrate). In addition, when i opened the filter housing to replace it, I saw that the upper rubber gasket ( I'd always assume food-safe, high-temp nitrile!) had badly discolored from black to a bright white, clearly heat-damage. This is scary because poor quality gaskets could be a sign of lax quality throughout the filter components, and the very nature of a filter is that your water soaks inside the filter housing until you open the tap... You don't even want to think about what would leach into your teeth brushing water if the filter materials are not food safe or temperature safe as indicated on the filter specs. But of course, the hope is that it was just a bad batch of gaskets???????????? The cold water unit, on the other hand, functioned well, with a full month of 60 TDS readings. I should add that neither unit experienced more than a touch of flow impediment. As for the VOC claims, if the circumstances depended on it...i WOULD hold my breath... Pun intended.

Top quality & Makes water drinkable.
There is not anything that I don't like about this. I am very happy with the Watts system and the replacement filters - especially happy about the good tasting water it produces, from horrible tap water to start.

It's all good. I paid $29
This is the one for over the sink filter replacement, and at Amazon's price, and free ship, what can I say. It's all good. I paid $29.95 for the first refill (one year usage) which is the same with this new one I bought. But the price was way less costly, and it serves the purpose. Only negative was very, very white tiny particles/sediment was floating in the water when first installed. I held the clear glass with water up near the kitchen window with the morning sun shining on it and it showed clearly the white stuff... probably the manufacturing dust when making them. After running the water for a time, it cleared up...which I do for every refill filter.
