I am pleasantly surprised

This review is based off my first use but I will update it as needed. Pros Light Very adjustable (height and support handle) Easy to store Large protection shield Flower guard 2 in 1 tool 2 batteries Quiet (compared to my old gas one) Adequate power for most jobs Cost Cons Each battery takes 5 hours to charge when first received 1 cutting line compared to 2 on other lines Thinner line then other brands Pictures for instructions Details I tend to do a lot of research before I purchase anything especially when I was looking at battery powered tools since what you buy is usually the line you stick with for all electric yard tools. I don't believe I will purchase many of the other tools from this brand but this weed trimmer is amazing. Since it came with 2 batteries I figured it was well worth the purchase even though I would buy their entire lineup. This product is much cheaper then competitors so I don't mind having 2 battery systems. Some of the reasons for it being cheaper is that is uses thinner line, only has the 1 cutting line, and is a 20v system. With that, I had low expectations especially for the edging part. I was surprised though and it took everything I threw at it. I figured it would be a fine trimmer but wasn't sure about edging since it just uses that thin line and I have never edged this property before. It did the job with ease. Not once did I have to press the button to feed more line. So either it did that automatically, which I don't think is that case since there would be a slight pitch change when it happen, or this line held up which I believe is the case. Based of my first use, it is well worth the price, hopefully as the continue to use it, that statement will hold up.

light weight & Light Duty

Very light weight trimmer, I'm probably not a fair reviewer, as I am comparing it to my echo straight shaft gas trimmer. It's easy to assemble, only tool required is a Phillips screwdriver. I bought it for my wife if she continues to want to trim, and it will probably be OK for her. On the positive side, its cheap, and light, the body length can be adjusted easily for a person of any height and arm length, and it does appear to be OK for trimming lawn grass along a fence, and of course it's electric which means you don't have to fight the gas engine to start trimming. On the negative, it uses light weight 065 line, I have not been able to get the line advance to work, (or maybe it only advanced such a small amount that I just can't tell it worked) the shield placement pretty much requires trimming perpendicular to the fence (I prefer to able to walk and trim parallel - but that's a personal preference). Two batteries is definitely a plus, but I don't have a feel for the battery life yet as I have only done some test cutting to get a feel for how it cuts.

Best trimmer/blower combo

I bought this set - never before being able to find a trimmer that wasn’t a nightmare to replace string when spool ran out. This one is so easy! With the two batteries, I can weed wack the entire yard and blow all the cut grass off the driveway and patios. So many of the trimmers are heavy, hard to start, awkward to use. This one is awesome! I liked it so much I bought a set for our son and he loves it, too! I have the trimmer through it’s paces cutting tall grass and weeds from the empty lot next to us and it’s worked great. Obviously not designed to cut super thick stems but it handled the long grass just fine.

Absolutely a dream...for the most part

I used this for the first time this morning. I would caution anyone to view videos and read the booklet, because I couldn't quite believe that I just had to step on the guard to change the angle, but it worked. I looked all over for a tab or button...but then watched a video (the illustrations in the book made me a bit cranky....but anyway. I gave the battery life a 5 because this is my first experience with a battery operated weed eater, but did pay attention to the flashing red light on the charger to let the tool rest before charging. I worked for about an hour with tough, tough weeds, so I used both batteries. Whether this is normal, I don't know, but as stated, the weeds were tough, so I am happy. Besides, it prevented me from overdoing, which I have a habit of doing, sometimes. As to the weight. I am quite pleased. I wear a back brace and wrist brace for yard work, and I feel pretty darn good....and I am 70...so I am even more pleased with the weight of the took, and yet is is powerful and easy to maneuver.

Love my weed wacker - thank goodness I got two batteries - I have an Acre with a long driveway

My weed wacker is great - it came with two battereies - some online do not provide both batteries. I love how it handles around the driveway and also around my one acre lot. If you dont have that much area to keep up with then one battery may be enough. The battery charges up fast so no issue to get the job done. I like the weight of it and the wheel keeps it in line when I need it going around the driveway. Turning it to handle the hilly areas it great too. The spools are cheap and easy to get.

Best trimmer for the money

I really like this trimmer. The battery life is good and it's easy to operate. Also the batteries can be used in other Worx products I have. This is actually the second GT I've gotten. I have had one for about 5 years and the batteries stopped charging. Rather than buy new batteries (a single Worx brand battery is often $50 online), I just decided to get a new trimmer. Getting two batteries, an extra charger, and the trimmer make this an unbeatable deal at $135.

Satisfied

At first I was kind of dissappointed when I used this trimmer. The battery took a long time to charge and didn't last very long. It did trim very well and it's pretty light weight. The other thing I wasn't too happy about was the fact that you have to hold down 2 buttons to keep it running, which tired out my fingers. I've gotten used to it now and am pretty satisfied with the purchase. I'll probably end up getting 2 more battery and chargers. Then it will double the amount of time it can be used. So I would recommend getting extra batteries.

If buying in the UK Please note the "standard" Worxs batteries are NOT compatible!

..not sure why Worx offer this in the UK based on their "Powershare" philosophy. In general I like Worx stuff, and they are my "go to" DIY powertool company. As I already have their drill I recently opted for one of their cordless hedge trimmers as I checked and was advised that despite being quite old my drill batteries would fit. On the back of that i then ordered the above cordless strimmer as it looked really nice and generally had good reviews. As I already now had 3 batteries I asked Worx if they could source me a "bare" unit, (ie no batteries). When it arrived it was a bit disappointing to find that although advertised as a "power share" tool the batteries I had are not compatible??? Not sure why they would do this?? But now have the pain of sending it back and looking for an alternative!

Misleading .. no suitable battery

I’m not happy at all about the miss information. I bought the worx strimmer because it clearly says clearly (power share) and same battery. I got the strimmer and the 20v battery and charger bought online separately from Amazon and they don’t fit together. I tried the battery of my Landroid mower and still the same.. does not fit!! There is no notice what so ever about this difference in the product advert or your website. Very misleading!!!! There is no adapter or different battery to Buy!!!

DON’T BUY IN THE UK

We have lots of worx PowerShare tools and love them. Turns out this is made for the US market and the batteries are different. So frustrating! Now we have to faff around with getting it returned and need to find the UK version!

This does not use UK batteries

Bought as a bare unit in the uk to use with other power share batteries. Arrived quicker than expected but uk batteries do not fit. In fairness to amazon, it does state that US specs may be different to those in UK but I did not expect that to mean the battery as without the battery, the unit itself is useless. UPS wanted nearly £60 to return to US for an item that cost £68 and Amazon policy will only consider refunding £20. I did contact Amazon customer service who let me keep the unit for disposal and refunded the full amount. So 5 stars for speed of delivery, 5 stars for Amazon customer service and 1 star for the unit because it does not work in the UK with UK powershare batteries.

Bogus sale!

This strimmer suggests that it is compatible with the batteries for lawnmower - the 20V Plus. I bought it thinking I was being clever as I already had the charger and two batteries. It arrived and after thorough investigation of booklet post assembly, it is not. To add insult to injury, the batteries are only sold in the States and now no longer made. Spend the money on the strimmer that comes with the battery pack is my advice! Really disappointing.
