Looks great, good quality faucet

The faucet itself is great quality and very heavy-duty construction, has good flow rate and isn't noisy. The hot and cold stems are also heavy-duty, but I don't understand why there is so much plastic in the connectors and the valves. The hot/cold handles are attached to the valve by a very loose-feeling plastic material. Seems the faucet and stems are overdesigned and the valve/connector/hose system is very basic and cheap.

Warning: drain is oversized.

The faucet seems to be a high quality offering. It’s heavy and has heavy chrome. The handles move easily without slop, nice feel to the motion. Installation is easy. The faucet replaced the original 90 year old American Standard faucet which still worked satisfactorily, but the chrome was beginning to flake in a few places. BUT here’s the kicker: the drain that comes with it is oversized. If the drain hole in your sink isn’t at least 1-5/8”, this unit won’t be completely serviceable. After sitting on hold for 25 minutes listening to American Standard propaganda, I was told that they could not help me. I had to go to the big orange box to get a standard drain with a rubber stopper to use with this. Faucet gets 5 stars, design engineers responsible for the drain get 1 star.

Avoid if you have hard water

The faucet is beautiful and functioned great for about 6 months, then the handles got progressively harder to turn. I disassembled the handles and found severe scale buildup almost that was preventing the handles from turning. There is no leak, so I think the water get inside through the top when people with wet hands touch the handles. The gaskets under the handles also are not thick enough and allow water to seep underneath, causing rust on the threaded metal piece where the hoses connect.

Incorrect parts in box. Twice

We ordered 3 sets of these. We returned one because it arrived dirty and appeared used. The second was fine and installed great. The third had the wrong size seal washers in it, and upon calling American Standard, we were informed they can’t send the correct size because they’ve been discontinued. Off to the hardware store to look for something that works.

Gorgeous at a great price.

I have bought a lot of faucets in the last 5-8 years due to lots of moving and remodeling, and the prices have become suddenly extortionate — IF you can get them. This was my first American Standard, and while the engineering is definitely old-school, this is a heavyweight faucet made of high-quality parts. It has a high-end look at less than half the price of most polished nickel lavatory faucets. The finish is extraordinary. Pay attention to the hot and cold supply lines and get them right at install or your cross handles will not turn appropriately. These are threaded traditionally — the cold turns on clockwise, the hot turns on counter-clockwise. Also, if you’re OCD and have never installed cross handles, get them nice and straight in your preferred configuration — either + or x style — before you tighten them down. I’ve had experienced plumbers walk off and leave one handle + and the other x. My BIL and I installed this one, and it was a breeze. Gorgeous, gorgeous faucet.

Very nice fauset

A very attractive fauset. I like the drain stopper, very secure and screws off to make cleaning easier. An attractive well made fauset.
