Like it, a bit tricky

I have been remiss in taking care of the filtration of my home. Mainly this is because I have to go into the crawlspace and I had done it a while back, but it must’ve been several years ago. Got tired of sneezing like crazy, not knowing what was going on. in and remove the big plastic casing in the filter, which was filthy, of course. Since it was in really bad shape, I went online and found this replacement. It arrived quite quickly, and when it came, I looked at the box with diagrams and instructions, and it was just a bit confusing. I put the frame together after trying to figure out the orientation of the pieces and whether they were upside down or not. I wish the pictures were clear but trial and error allowed me to finally put the frame together then I loaded in the filter. Then I decided to look at a video online. I realize that what he did was installed the frame first and then slid the filtration , inside of the frame once the frame is installed. So I remove the filtration crawled under the crawlspace with the frame, and the filtration and manage finally to get the frame in. I found it difficult to orient and properly install the filtration, but I finally managed to do it. Let it be noted that I was on my belly with very limited space between the ground and the floor joists above so that really accounts for my difficulty. The Styrofoam door seal is a little different on each side so I figured out how to orient it while in the crawlspace. Then to my surprise, I see a little filter slide in holder and I realize that there’s a second filter that I need to replace. Fortunately I had some in the house. Now the good thing is I only have to order the filtration accordion type of thing here after. Live and learn and I’ve been way too casual on approaching filtration and I’ve learned my lesson big time. I do recommend this product.

Filter and Delivery Fine, But....

Needs to have a sturdier outside box -- product box itself is very flimsy.

Drop in substitute for the original.

Went in very easily. The hardest part is getting the first spacer comb lined up with the pleats, and I found a video on youtube explaining how to do that. All the ones after you just drop in next to the first, and slide over. Then the dirty filter went into the box the new one came in, for disposal. Convenient!

Nice upgrade

Nice upgrade for the Aprilair 2200. No more messing around with filter dividers. Quick and easy install. Comes with MERV13 filter.

Great retrofit option instead of paying hundreds more for a ferblantier

Easy to install and the filter fits snugly on the 3 sides. I wish there would be a larger EPS foam option to insert in the older 2200 door. It states that it's not necessary, but there is a 1/4" gap where air could bypass through the front door. I'll most likely find a slim price of foam and glue it to the door eventually.

An Aprilaire 'accordion' filter

Looks identical to the filter I was replacing. About 10 minutes to install, as removing the plastic fins that keep the pleats separated is a bit tricky. They require a bit of force, but are made of thin plastic so you don't want to risk breaking them. Am not a fan of the design of this filter, as it takes more effort to replace than ones that you just slide in and out, and because you can't find it in hardware stores, But am told it is a good design as it forces the air through more of the filter. Not convinced this is the case for my filter, but since I haven't found a substitute this product will do for now.

Easy install.

I've bought this item from a couple of sources in the last few years and my beef is the install. Specifically, in the past the flaps on the filters which hang it on the frame were thin, flimsy and for some unexplainable reason had slits in the middle. I was leery when I noticed this purchase did not appear to be original equipment. No problem, these filters had firm and solid flaps, no slits, making the install very simple. Will buy again.

Excellent product really well constructed of quality materials, If you have the old type filter with the black comb separators this upgrade is a must. Makes changing out filters a must. I like to keep an extra one on hand just incase there is a supply issue.

Dispendieux mais y'a pire

Pour fournaise electrique à air chaud.Fait bien mais un peu difficile à installer. Je trouve ce filtre dispendieux pour ça simplicité de construction. Magasinez car les prix varies beaucoup!
