A little tinner than normal but feels good

This Balaclava Hood is a little thinner material then I'm used to, but it feels super comfortable on the face, the coverage is great and fits very well. It did a good job of keeping my face warm in the cold, but wind was definitely getting through. (probably due to the thinness). If this was a tad thicker it would be perfect.

Nice Balaclava

The Arctix balaclava is a good base layer to protect your head and neck from the cold weather and chilly winds. This is fairly thin, but still provides enough protection to keep you warm in cold weather. The material is nice and stretchy but still relatively tight so it has a good fit. It is also a comfortable material that doesn't irritate my face while I'm moving around and active in the winter. It is breathable and lightweight so I feel that it is a good base to have underneath my regular hat. The opening is a little on the smaller side so don't expect to move it around too much and maintain your sightlines. Overall, this is a nice balaclava that will keep you warm and help keep the cold winds out.

Thin but warm and we love the color!

My father already has a balaclava but it’s dark colored; I specifically ordered this in “Blue Ridge” (baby blue) so that on his early AM walks he doesn’t look like he’s rehearsing to be a ninja or on his way to rob a gas station. (We don’t live in an area where it’s cold enough to routinely see people wearing balaclavas… so my request was he wear a less startling pastel to help our neighborhood pearl-clutchers feel less spooked). When it arrived, I was surprised to see how thin and slick-feeling it is. But then again ‘base layers’ are typically not woolly or thick. I don’t love that to remove the balaclava from its retail card you end up with a really big divot/flaw on the side (from one of those awful, tight fitting t-bar plastic connectors). See pic. The fit should work for most adult male noggins, it has a good stretch. If you want a slightly thinner balaclava that doesn’t feel as suffocating, this one will do the trick— as it’s not going to feel quite as initially warm as a fuzzy knit but also doesn’t suffer the problems with moisture that a knit will. And if the company fixes the plastic connector issue it’ll be a 5 star product. Dad is happy to feel less frigid, while looking less scary, and that was the goal.

thin but warm and good for cold weather

I really liked the Balaclava and its really thin but at the same time will keep you warm as well. Face and neck coverage is great and perfect for any sport activities as well other than using it in extremely cold weather.

Comfortable

This facemask stretches. It’s very comfy protect your skin from the outside elements. Great for outside activities working outside I do recommend.

Thin, but warm

I live in a very windy state and during the winter it is extremely cold. I ordered this balaclava to protect my face while working outside. It is thin and easy to breathe through, but it's working well to keep my face warm. The eye opening is a bit big for me so it's more open on my forehead, but I simply wear a hat and that takes care of it. The stitching is good and there is no fraying. I ordered a medium and it's neither too loose nor too tight. The length is good and it covers my neck well. This balaclava is working well for me!

Good base layer, comfortable and versatile

I really like this balaclava - the material is comfortable and breathes well. It wears well under the chin, but when the bottom is pulled up over my nose the seam chafes a little after a while - not bad but it’s a little bothersome. Great for cold weather activities of all kinds!
