A Little Too Heavy

I have a number of compression tubes that have been useful when I have been more concerned about space in my suitcase than the weight. Those cubes are extremely light weight and have held up well to quite a bit of abuse. I’ve been looking for a long narrow “cube” for the space/depression between the two bars of the extendable handle used for pushing/pulling the suitcase. This cube by Baggallini was the only one, with the right dimensions, that was being sold by itself, so I ordered it. I like Baggallini products - a lot - for their varieties of designs and colors, but may be returning the compression tube. It weighs 3 ounces - nearly double the weight of a larger Eagle Creek cube that is twice the size. It appears to me that the zippers on this cube are heavier - maybe a good design choice. However a great deal of the extra weight comes from the heavy, clear-plastic top of the cube. There is much lighter weight (but strong) webbing at either end of the top. The webbing still allows one to see the contents so a full-webbing top (and maybe even bottom) would have shaved some significant weight off the design. If you are not concerned about the weight of your packed suitcase, then this compression tube will do the job fine.

Just as advertised

These are high quality Baggallini products. The two best features are the compression zippers and the fact that they fit perfectly between the spines of my suitcase. Why does no one talk about this need? I would love to see these in a half-length and a double-length version also.

Fits the channels on the bottom of your suitcase

The best thing about this item is that, for most suitcases, it will fit between those pesky channels on the bottom of your suitcase where the handle is stowed. Baggolini products are always very well designed and sturdy, and this one is no exception. I need products that have a clear or mesh panel on front so I can see what’s packed inside — it’s just the way my mind works. This one has a hard plastic panel that I’m not in love with, but it serves the purpose. Good item.

Sold out Compass Rose replacement

Disclaimer: I have not owned compression cubes before this so I have nothing to compare my experience to. With that being said, I was looking for a similar product to the sold out Compass Rose 4 bag set and found this product. To test it out I fit a pair of tall leggings, a cotton long sleeve shirt and a pair of shorts in the bag pictured. I feel like I could have stuffed a pair of socks in at the end as well. To my surprise it fit perfectly across my standard Away carry on. I expected the zipper to break when testing it out bc these seem to be generally used for smaller clothing items but it didn’t! So far so good! I’m using 2 in my carry-on-only 8 day trip. One for undergarments &socks and one for pj shorts & camis. I’ll update after my trip.

Perfect for Carry-On Travel

I absolutely LOVE these. I have used packing cubes for my international travels for years, but I had never tried compression because I couldn’t find any with a fully clear or mesh top panel. To stay organized and remember what I have, my items must remain visible once packed. I currently own cubes that are made entirely of reinforced, clear pvc, but they take up a lot more space in my bag than these. With a clear pvc center and see-through mesh sides, the tops of these cubes are perfect! I also purchased a Baggallini set with 2 medium and a large cube in this style. The large is the same length as these slim cubes, but are approx 2.5x wider. Large is perfect for jeans, large pants, outerwear and other bulky items. The medium work well for most of my pants and long sleeve or bulky tops. The slim ones are great for undergarments, sleepwear, swimwear and lightweight shirts. I think the combination of 1 large, 2 medium and 2 slim will fit nicely in my carry on and work beautifully for most of my trips. They feel very sturdy and durable. I’ll update if I have any quality or durability issues after using these, but I’m currently very happy with my purchase.

Love these things

Fi9rst, I am by NO MEANS a packing cube user. However, I purchased a set of luggage that did not have an interior pocket to store personal items such as socks, underwear, etc. These thing did the trick! I was able to put several days worth of undies in it, with socks, and then compress them down (though it was somewhat difficult to do). The case fit nicely alongside my regular packed clothing and didn't take up a whole lot of room. Be advised, the cube is very long. It can, however, fit width-wise (i.e., left to right) in a carry-on suitcase. Though I don't need them, I bought additional ones.

Perfect for socks & underpants

At first I had second thoughts when I saw it, but once I started packing I found it was perfect. Able to stuff a lot of socks & panties in this small thing. Saved lots of room in luggage, as well as just made it so organized and easy to grab those items quickly in the morning. Recommended to friends.

The actual worst zipper pull for the compression zip

When you're using a compression zip, you want leverage on the zipper pull and a smooth zip. This is the opposite. The worst zipper pull imaginable, provides no leverage whatsoever and hurts more than its lookalike that's also related to fitting objects into tight places. The zipper also gets stuck in the fabric as you try to close it. Do not recommend. This product is a different dimension than what's shown in the photos.

Fits a lot but the compression zipper gets caught on the inner layer
