Good Basic Blanket
This is not as plush as other blankets -- which is a good thing, in that I have had trouble with the more luxurious ones causing sheets and covers to slip off. The analog controls are larger and 'clunkier' than they need to be, but they work fine. I've never had the blanket on the highest setting, but it certainly gets warm enough -- in fact I wish the lowest setting was a little lower. Other blankets use a single power cord for both controls -- this one requires two wall power outlets -- one for each control. Overall a good blanket for the money, and I am happy with it.

Warmth
This item is loved in my household. I am always cold. My husband is always hot. With the dual controls we are both happy. It's soft and easy to set up. The price was also reasonable.

CONTROLLER, Controller, Controller. It works, you can see it, & it's easy!
These have the best controllers available. First we tried the gorgeous blanket, with the digital controllers. What a nightmare! (You can't tell what it's set on, or even IF it's on, because it keeps going dark after a few minutes! Who wants to program a blanket in the middle of the night - in the dark, when you get too hot/cold?) So, when the second Digital controller stopped working - within 20 days, we sent the beautiful blanket back, & got this one. It ain't pretty, & it's not perfect either, but it works! We can tell it's on or off just by the light, & we can see what the setting is, without our glasses. No manual to help us program it, No turning on the light to figure it out, & it's just a simple dial with numbers, & the lit up one is the one it's set on. Yay! How hard is that? AND - best of all, It works! We got the queen, which gives us dual controls (great because no 2 people like the same exact heat settings). This blanket is plenty big for a queen bed. It's not pretty, but we put a quilt over ours, anyway, because that holds the heat down on you, or on the bed, if you like it pre-warmed, as I do. Cons: * Wires are not covering the entire blanket. (though, to be fair, the pretty digital blanket we first tried also had the same issues, so not sure if any of them cover the whole blanket.) There's a space between his side & mine, where no heat lives. There's also a 6+ inch dead area around the entire blanket, with no heat. Not sure why, because once you get in bed, that dangling part over the side is often what's touching your back, especially if someone else is being a blanket hog. Like I said, the fancy blanket had that exact same issue, so I'm guessing they all do. I just don't like it. : ) Overall, that fancy blanket was great, if you don't need the heat part. If you want the heat part, & don't want to be reading the manual at 2 AM, to figure out how to reset the stupid thing, buy this one. The controllers are all that matters at 2 AM, & This is the one! Also, there's a lot less to go wrong with it. My original fancy blanket lost 2 digital controllers in under 3 weeks (so I had time to return it - Yay), while this one has lasted for 3+ months of use thus far, without issue. (& I still have one with the exact same controller from 20+ yrs ago, which still works fine - but it's for a single bed.) I know which one I'd choose.

It's the only blanket out there with an easy controller
It's the middle of the night, you are half asleep and need more/less heat. You reach over and feel for the control, it's got buttons - 20 different heat settings. Which setting is it? You touch one of the buttons and the light comes on, you squint and see that it's at 5 or something and you need it at 8. You hit the up button and the controller clicks each time it goes up. It was actually 6 because you can't see well. So you click down. You think you got it right as you look at it without your glasses. But your wife next to you hears the clicks and asks, "What are doing in the middle of the night???" You mumble something and then the control falls off the table on to the floor. By then everyone's wide awake, etc. All blankets have some or all of these annoying features but not the Biddeford. If you find the controller in the middle of the night by touch only, you're good. It's illuminated at all times in case you need to know the setting. It is super easy and 100% quiet to rotate the huge dial CW or CCW. It doesn't get any easier or quieter. A very important feature is the length of the control wire - it's plenty long enough to go down the bed post at the rear and up at the front post to the bedside table. All controllers can slip on a smooth surface and wind up on the floor. To fix this, put a couple of wads of "Simply Tacky" that sells online or at a Hobby Lobby. This removable putty keeps the controller in place so when you are groping blindly with your hand in the middle of night, you won't knock it off onto the floor. We got ours on sale for about $60. If it lasts 5 or 10 years, we're good and will just buy another. DO NOT WASH ELECTRIC BLANKETS EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY IT'S OK. They will last much longer if you don't and it shouldn't be necessary unless you sleep with animals that shed or throw-up at night. If you must have animals in bed, be sure to always put a light blanket over the electric blanket and that will help protect it. Another feature is that the blanket doesn't slide around like some do.

Works well, can be used on a timer
The only thing I dislike about this blanket is that sometimes it doesnt seem to get as hot as other times even if leave the temperature adjustment the same. I bought this blanket because of the analog controls. So as long as you turn it on and set the temperature, the blanket will come on with a plug in wall timer. The controller has a built in off timer, but it only seems to activate with uninterrupted use. So I have mine plugged into a timer that is set to come on at a certain time every day and then turn off a few hours later. The auto-off timer is never activated, so it works day after day without hassle. It is dual zone and has two plugs, so you'll need a two plug wall timer to utilize the whole blanket in this fashion.

Very soft heat
The blanket works well and I'm happy with it. There are times when I forget to turn it off, and it seems to turn itself off in terms of creating heat. The blanket will reset and begin heating again if you cycle the on off switch. I find that it is a fairly low heat blanket in that it takes some time to realize it is heating, and certainly a lot less than for example a heating pad. This is good in that it just keeps you warm and comfortable over the night without scalding you. If turned up to maximum you will certainly end up in a sweat before morning.

Great Electric Blanket!
In love with this electric blanket! Gets warm so fast, lightweight, and a 5 year warranty! Our last one was a Sunbeam and we only got two winters out of it. We’re hooked on this Biddeford for good.

Excellent heated blanket.
Well had this item for awhile now and thought I would review it. First unlike other heated blankets the 2 controllers are independant and if one side of blanket or controller dies the other side remains working. The controllers have lots of settings and are backlit, plus each controller has off and on switches. The blanket heats good and has decent coverage in the blanket. I find the wires a little stiffer than other blankets but I still rate it as excellent. I would buy this blanket again with no worries.

Exactly as advertised
This blanket is exactly what I ordered. Have had Biddeford electric blankets before and have always found them easy to use and reliable. It did take a long time to be delivered.
