Reliable, multi-age ear thermometer
We purchased this thermometer because it covers such a wide range of ages. We compared the temp readings for a 1-year old using this and a rectal thermometer - they were the same, so we have high confidence in its accuracy for toddler ages. The temp readings are so quick - great for a squirming kiddo! The display screen lights up and lets you select the age each time you take a temp (might be nice to be able to program this, but I understand why it could be different each reading). Easy to read numbers. One of the coolest features are the lights that are green=no fever, yellow=low grade fever, and red=high fever. Very easy to use and has the extra perks to make it worth a few more bucks than your average thermometer. I bought two!

Same unit being used in a quick check clinic
This is an upgrade from the thermometer we had before. It is easy to use and sanitary with disposable tips. I suppose there is probably no harm in cleaning the tips and reusing them if you had to. The age selector is interesting as it shows a different alert screen for the same temp based off of age. But it also is a hindrance as you always have to push the age button each time you use it. I am a firm believer in KISS keep it simple. This might be a helpful for some but generally most fevers are not something that should be of too much alarm. With a teacher in the house and two little germ sharing factories. A baby and a toddler figuring out life this a must have as they are continually bringing home something to share. I would gladly buy this again, but maybe there is a pro version that skips a step of the age selection.

Great thermometer, useless battery indicator
This is a very accurate consistent thermometer which will give a very tight range of values if repeated measurements are taken (+/- 0.1 °F). That's arguably more important than absolute accuracy, since individuals' baseline temperatures vary anyway. (As far as I can tell, the absolute accuracy is also fine, but I don't have a better thermometer to compare it to). There are two absolutely critical things to know about this thermometer though: First, it needs fully charged batteries to give accurate readings. With fresh batteries outputting 1.59 volts each, I get accurate, consistent readings. With older batteries at 1.45 volts, the readings are all over the place – fluctuating by more than a degree. In particular, it will tend to give a very high reading on the first scan, and then slowly trend downward while still bouncing all over the place. That wouldn't be such a problem, except for the second issue: the battery indicator is useless. It will tell you you have "full" batteries *long* after it's lost the ability to give accurate readings. Those 1.45 volt batteries I mentioned. My thermometer called that "4/4 bars". So, in terms of accuracy and overall convenience, this is a great thermometer. But unless you've just changed the batteries, always take two readings. If they're dramatically different, you probably need to replace the batteries.

Just as described and needed
This brand was specifically recommended by my children's pediatrician, and they use this brand in the doctor's office, as well. I've tried two other in-ear or forehead thermometers, which I either bought on Amazon or Target, and both were not able to detect when I had a fever. I have children under the age of 5, so I'm not comfortable using the oral or rectal thermometers on them. I tried using the oral thermometer in my baby's armpit, but that's not an accurate way to temp. Anyway, just opened the package, changed the AA batteries (they came with 2 batteries that expired in 2022, not a big deal), and I tested it on myself and one of my children. So far, easy to use and accurate. Plus, the ear shields are great! I used to wipe down the ear piece after each temp with the old thermometers. If you're being environmentally conscious, you can choose not to use the disposable plastic, but I don't use the thermometer enough to feel like I'm making a huge impact. Anyway, happy with my purchase and confident in its accuracy!!

Acurate and easy to use BUT...
I can't wait for version 8 because they need to fix the following annoyances: 1.) There needs to be a soft light facing the kids ear. The only light that comes from the device is the blinding blue light from the screen, and when you're measuring a sick child's temp in the dark, that blue light makes it impossible to see anything but that blue light. 2.) Having to wait a but of time before you can toggle through the infant, baby, or adult options is annoying. Make it a switch or something. 3.) The little ear condoms. What gives. Annoying. Other than that, it is the best thermometer on the market.

Finally, one that works
Save your money, new parents, and listen to me. Every other thermometer will have you scratching your head with doubt in the middle of the night because they aren't accurate. This one is. Don't buy six different kinds from Walgreens and just buy this up front. Trust me on this.

Very Accurate
I had the Braun older model and liked it till it stopped working after 7 yrs. Bought few forehead no touch thermometers but they were not accurate. This model live up all the hype and what people say in the product review. Definitely recommended!

Works well. Don't much care for the extra step with the baby/vs adult setting
This thermometer works very well and is our "go to". My only nitpick is that I have bad eyesight and if I'm without my glasses it is annoying to have to try to figure out whether I have it on the right setting. There are three choices: baby, kids and adults. I'm not sure if this is necessary and defer to those who have babies and kids around whether this is useful/necessary. I bought it without noticing this feature. If you don't need it you might want to get the version without this choice.
