Stunning image makes for a difficult and rewarding experience.

I got this (750 piece) as a gift for my father (64 years old) for Christmas, as the location is on his bucket list and he grew up with puzzles; he also has done all kinds of puzzles in adulthood, 3-dimensional ones, etc. The reviews said this one was a challenge and it proved to be! He could not walk away from it, spending over 6 hours on it the day after Christmas and finished up in just over 3 hours the next day. The pieces are so many different shapes which added to the challenge - for a while he was convinced pieces would be missing, but nope, they were just so oddly shaped! He had a great time and I will definitely buy more from this company.

Great Variation in Shapes!

This is the best fun I have had completing a jigsaw puzzle in a long time. It falls into the "difficult" category. The puzzle was unusual in the details of the rocks. It reminded me of my college geology class. I enjoyed searching the puzzle pieces to match the rock patterns. It was challenging but fun. Unlike most puzzles, there was a huge variation in the shapes of the pieces. In fact, I don't think I have ever had a puzzle with this many different shapes. It was fabulous! To complicate matters, several different pieces would fit into one space, and at first glance they looked to be a match. However, that is part of the game, and this added to the fun. The pieces themselves are a nice weight and dust was minimal. The surfaces are nicely finished and the completed puzzle looks good enough to display. I like the fact that Buffalo Games uses recycled materials. That is an unexpected bonus. Another tremendous bonus to the Buffalo Games puzzles is the poster which is included with each. It definitely helped me to find the correct position of the rock pieces in the foreground. Even with the help of the poster, I needed to use reading glasses to put the puzzle together. I augmented my overhead lights with task lighting to discern the details, especially of the forest pieces. I wish the hikers hadn't been in the picture. It ruined the tranquility of the scene for me. Overall, I recommend this puzzle for anyone experienced. But I definitely think it is not appropriate for a family just looking for a fun time.

Beautiful Puzzle, interesting shapes!

One of the first puzzles I've done in a long time, and this one was very fun. The colors are spectacular and I had a lot of fun with the gradient in the sky. Some parts are more challenging (the rocks, the trees) but I was able to finish it easily over three nights. No missing pieces, and I liked that for the more challenging spots I could look for specific puzzle shapes. There are a couple that may trick you into fitting in a spot where it doesn't belong, but if you look closely at it you can see why it doesn't fit. Quality was good and all of the pieces were in good shape. I'll definitely consider this company again for more puzzles.

Pretty Picture

The paper seemed thin compared to other puzzles I have done, a few of the puzzle pieces the paper was lifting even before use. The graphic design was beautiful!

Very Beautiful puzzle. Not all pieces unique, though.

I loved the beautiful, colorful picture of this puzzle. That's the reason I bought it, and the finished product did not disappoint. I agree with a previous reviewer that there are enough edges and features to help you solve puzzle parts by sight and then build out from there. I, too, found the rock to be the most challenging. I was reduced to looking for a particular puzzle piece shape for much of the build out of that section. (I need a piece with 3 knobs and 1 hole...) I finished the rock last. I gave this puzzle 4 stars because I found that not all of the shapes were unique. There were several times when I put pieces together that "fit", but then had to decide that they actually didn't go together. Being a new jigsaw puzzler, I don't know if this is common or not. I didn't seem to have this issue on the other puzzles that I have done. Nevertheless, I DO recommend this puzzle. It was fun to put together and is very beautiful finished.

Beautiful & challenging puzzle of good quality.

A beautiful and challenging puzzle. I look forward to visiting this area (Moraine Lake, Alberta). Quality and fit of the puzzle pieces was excellent. Would definately try another puzzle from this company. I deducted a star because in unpacking the puzzle many of the puzzle pieces were connected/not separated. It's common to have some but this puzzle had too much.

Just right

I gave this as a gift to a friend who does jigsaw puzzles regularly. They found it the right balance between being challenging but not frustratingly so. They thought the image was beautiful and all the pieces were included.
