Whats that smell?

NIce socks, heavy, warm, look nice, but they stink after washing. In fact, I washed them (before I wore them) in cold water, with a few other things, and had to rewash the entire load without the socks. The entire load smelled bad! Have washed them twice since then, and they still smell like bug spray perhaps? I currently have them soaking in baking soda water.

Perfect!

I ordered a few pairs of what were advertised as winter socks before this from a different brand and was disappointed. But these socks are exactly as advertised, super comfy, soft, heavy weight, winter socks. Will be ordering more.

Definitely thick cushioning.

These are definitely very thick cushioning throughout the sock and not just the sole of foot which is often the case with a lot of socks. Due to this thickness it is possible you may need to wear a shoe that is a half size larger than your usual fit. The interior has sort of an odd and different feeling but this is to be expected and is part of the “sweater feel” of the sock. For those that have issues with the feel or texture of things on their feet or skin this may bother you, it bothered me a little at first. I ordered the “purple” sock and there is absolutely nothing purple about it, I wouldn’t even say it’s a shade of purple. They are all Browns with a khaki beige base, as you can see from photos. I have very poor circulation, peripheral cardiovascular disease, Raynauds and some nervous system issues in turn my hands and feet are always much colder than the rest of my body. I often have to wear 3 pairs of thick socks just to maintain a normal temperature. Well I wore these yesterday and it was 4 degrees without the windchill and it was one of the first days I didn’t notice my feet! I also wore them to bed and woke up nice and toasty warm, actually cracked open the window in the morning and fell back asleep and was still toasty warm! I may have found my new go to sock! Love all carhartt socks and they are above all else including smartwool and all the more expensive brands.

Very comfy, but they run small

These socks are very warm and comfortable. I have thick calves, and the sweater cuff is stretchy and does not bind as so many socks do. That said, they are one size, and that size is rather small. My foot is an 8.5. I can stretch them so that the heel sits at my heel, but it will not stay. Right away, the socks will contract, and the heel of the sock will return to my arch, in front of my heel. I can still use them for sleeping and around the house, but they wear thin, since the thicker sock heel doesn't cover my actual heel. These would be great for women with smaller feet.

Simple and easy

I use this every night for tea. Easy to use and clean. Use on low to medium heat so the plastic does not melt from the flame
