A very nice watch for an athlete
I bought the Casio STR300 to replace a ten year old Timex Ironman that was recently stolen. I went to the Casio because the entry level Ironman no longer does splits in the stop watch mode. Over all I've found the Casio to be a worthy replacement for keeping track of my time when I run, swim or bike. The good: First and foremost, sixty split times! That's a lot of splits, but essential for someone like me that is presently training for a triathlon by swimming laps in a pool. Second, one thing that I really like about the Casio over and above my old Timex is the way that after an hour passes by in the stop watch mode, I don't lose the hundredths of a second from the face of the watch. Once my old Timex would hit the one hour mark, the hundredths of a second numbers would disappear to make room for an hours column. Casio avoids this by putting the hours above the minutes so that it doesn't have to shift the minutes over to make room. I think is a very clever solution. Third, the price, this watch is packed with features for less than the entry level Timex Ironman. Granted, most of the features are lost on me. I'm hearing impaired so I don't really care about the five alarms. Nor do I use the countdown mode. But I don't have a whole lot of money and this watch is worth every penny that I paid for it. The bad: The build quality of this watch seems inferior to the Timex Ironman series. Maybe it just feels different and will last just as long. I won't know that until ten years down the line. If this Casio is still going, then I'll change my mind on this point. I find the button to trigger a split difficult to press. With my old Timex, it was pretty easy to hit the split button while doing a flip-kick at the end of the pool to turn around. With this thing, I miss more often than not. Often times I have to stop swimming and hit the button a few times to get it. This may be user error on my part and perhaps given enough time I will learn to hit the button in just the right way. I've only had this problem underwater. When running or cycling, hitting the button is pretty easy. If the button were as easy to hit as my old Timex was, I'd probably have given this watch 5 starts.

Nice little watch at a good price.
Great little watch. I'm having trouble figuring out the instructions for the stop watch lap time functions

Like it
My 12 year old son uses it for cross country and love that it has a memory so he can see what his last time was.

Highly functional and great value
Chose this to replace a 10 year old model with identical features - the old band finally packed it in and a hole had actually worn in one of the buttons (the adjust button); so I can say it gave very good service despite a real flogging over the years; and it still works perfectly. This watch is smaller and lighter than my old one which is very nice - especially for sports and makes it very comfortable for all day use. The older model was water resistant to 100 metres (vs 50 for this one) but that's plenty unless your doing SCUBA etc. The interface is also the same so I didn't have to learn how to use it - I'm no troglodyte, but require functions that are intuitive and easily accessible - this works well. There are enough buttons to quickly scroll to each function and set easily without tedious menu scrolling. You should find the stopwatch function par excellence with easy start/stop/lap selection via the front buttons. I use this a lot for swimming laps; using it for running etc is an absolute cinch. The manual does say not to operate the buttons underwater; I did with the old one at shallow depths (i.e. lap swimming) with no problems. This watch does the job brilliantly and is superb value. I'll get back to you in 10 years re the battery life, but if it goes close that long, I'll give it the full 5 stars!

Good running watch, easy to understand and navigate through functions
It is a women's watch (smaller face), not a men's like it said it was when I put it in my cart, and that is what I wanted. It doesn't have a way to light up the face in the dark as my prior watch did, which I knew when I purchased it, and I do miss that function. Not the fault of the watch, just didn't know how much I liked that function until I didn't have it. Set up for date and time is easy, almost too easy as I have accidentally fast forwarded the date stamp by one day twice. It is possibIe that I did that subconsciously, being in a court session that was taking far too long and wishing like hell that I could leave. Switching modes is simple, like most other watches of this sort. If you don't need a watch that can light up in the dark, this is a great watch at an excellent price. Can't speak to battery life as I have owned it for a very short while.

Great running watch
This is a great running watch. What I like most about it is that it keeps logs of the past 60 stopwatch times you have posted, which makes it easy to keep track of your run times. It's also the perfect size. Many men's watches are really big and I prefer to have something lightweight and unobtrusive when I am going out on runs. The stopwatch also has a distinctive beeping noise for starting and stopping so you can tell if you have accidentlally started or stopped the stopwatch when you didnt mean to. I have not tried the pacer function, but I wouldn't expect it to work too well since it calculates distance based on your average stride length and counts on you running at the same pace the entire time. I was a little worried about the start/stop/reset buttons being hard to press based on other reviews, but I do not have any trouble with this on my watch. The buttons are easy to press for the stopwatch functions. However, a lot of adjustments on the watch require you to use those buttons to change things (e.g. time, date, etc), and they are a little hard to press for long durations for that. Overall it's a great watch with many features.

Funcional y barato

Nice little sports watch
The other reviews pretty much nailed it: this is an aesthetically pleasing, lightweight but functional watch. The time is displayed in nice, clear numbers, and switching it over to 24h time (my preference) was easy. Also, the battery should probably outlive the watch, and the price represents pretty good value for money. On the downside, I get the feeling that the band is a bit on the flimsy side and I sincerely doubt it will last the 10 years the battery apparently will. The clasp is of particular concern, as it is plastic instead of aluminum and will no doubt warp/crack over time. Lastly, the light is indeed very wimpy. I was shocked! So if that's something you need, go with Timex.

Great! I use it at work where I'm a nurse, and recommend it for any healthcare professional. Lightweight, not too bulky, and handy that it lights up if needed (ie: on night shifts). Has a lot of options on the band when selecting wrist size. I would just note that it's easy to accidentally push the buttons on the side, so be sure to read the instruction manual before you use it so you know how to navigate through the options

Amazing Watch!
My new digital CASIO wrist watch keeps excellent time. Its night light makes it easy to check the time in the dark or low lit area indoors or outdoors. Also, the large digital numbers makes it easy to see the time at a quick glance. The current week day, month & day of the month just below the time is an excellent way to keep track of the current calendar date. I will recommend your watch to anyone! They will enjoy it for years to come....as I will!! Sincerely Mary Borden

Great digital watch for lap tracking
Used it to track the time of my first triathlon. Absolutely loved the watch. With the warranty, the watch is a great buy. I was thinking of a smart watch. However, I found most of them are way too big for my waist and too expensive for what I use it for. I would recommend buying this watch if you simply want to keep the time of your run, bike, and swim.
