Very nice glove... I really don't like anything else
I've been buying these gloves for quite a long time and keep buying more since they are great. Now the "Contractor" in the name might be pushing it a bit since I'm not a contractor and don't use these every day. After a few months of weekend work around the house, they do wear down. I find the finger tips break through first. But still, they are a great glove. Way better than those rather cheap ones at the big box store. I like the fact that they have several sizes to choose from, extra padding on the knuckles and the velcro tie around my wrist to keep them snug so they don't fall off but also so dirt doesn't sneak into the glove while working with materials (like dirt) that tend to do that. They aren't super warm (but I've never found any work glove warm) but they do protect my fingers very well. And because they fit nicely over my fingers without extra space, they feel about as close to my hand as possible (with a glove on). Because they feel good, I put them on for almost all work I do just to protect my hands.

Perfect for the job!1
i use these everyday for HVAC demo and hauling old rusty metal and they hold up very well. i will be buying these again when or if these ever wear out.

Good fit and grip, but not durable enough for demo work
Finishing the demo of an old log cabin. Bought two pair of these thinking they might last me through the rebuild phase, but I fear they will not. One day of demo work and the cloth backs of the gloves already have several tears, one of which allowed a good chunk of the back of my hand to go with it. Probably will work better for the less violent work of rebuilding. Grip and fit are good. For $20/pair, should be better overall. If I'm going to burn through glove this fast, I'll just keep getting them from the local discount/liquidation store.

Very good - should last longer but still better than others
These have served me very well and endured much abuse, but I'm getting close to replacing them (they might hold up a little longer but it's dying gasps). They were awesome at first. I did expect them to be more durable, and to last at least six months. They lasted four months. For replacements I just bought two other CLC models (the tradesman pro and the demolition XC) so I can compare. The reason is because even though these didn't last as long as I hoped (not cheap), these were the best I've come across so far. I'm going to stick with CLC for a few more pairs before spending more time and money trying other brands. The larger reinforcement areas could stand to be thicker - the fingers are about as thick as can still be usable (though the tip reinforcement should extend just a little further down), but the knuckle and palm areas could be thicker without losing functionality. Some of CLC's other models supposedly do just that so I'll try them and review. Fit is fine, strap works well. They are somewhat breathable but I think the advertising exaggerates this quality. I don't care, no glove that's thick enough to completely protect my hand is going to be capable of breathing, and any glove that's there all day is going to be soaked and stinky by the end, so why stave off the inevitable? For moderate usage (weekend warriors or part time labor) you could do a lot worse than this glove. I'm going to try finding a more extremely durable model but if I can't, I'll come back to these.

Excellent durability and flexibility.
Guitar playing and woodworking don't mix well. A splinter in the finger and your cancelling a concert. So I began wearing gloves during my furniture making and woodworking projects. I tried several gloves and most wore out fast at the finger tips. When pushing wood through a table saw or router table, the wood slides against the finger tips that hold the lumber it against the fence and this tends to wear out the glove tips quickly. After several gloves, I then got a pair of CLC Contractor gloves. The tips, palms and finger segments are reinforced with leather and add great durability and longevity for the work I do. The first pair I bought perhaps 10 years ago and I am just now replacing them. See the picture off the old vs new glove. I used these gloves for lots of things from woodworking, carpentry to cement work and the have held up well through all that abuse. It just now In noticed the finger tips are gone and decided it was time to retire the old CLCs. I look forward to another decade of splinter free wood working with my new gloves!

Love these gloves
Love these gloves. I mainly use them for riding my bike, to give me some protection in case I wipe out, and to take a little chill off (don't buy them for warmth, though, they don't do much). They were tight at first, and stretched to fit my hand beautifully within a few hours of wearing them and they just keep getting better. I love the color, it is a nice dark brownish/rust orange, not a bright orange. Velcro wrist straps work great. Palm and finger tip padding is great. Padding on the knuckes does not quite line up properly, but that does not bother me much and does not affect comfort. I have not used them for work, but I suspect the extra layer of leather on the finger tips would affect tactile sense a bit. It is not a problem for my application. I think it would be fine for say, roofing, where you have to pick up roofing nails and screws...plenty of feel for that, but they would not work for a mechanic who has to be able to feel small parts. I wore them while working on a knife and it was nice to have an extra layer of protection just in case.

Good materials, poorly stitched
Comfortable, good grip, durable materials on all the points of high wear BUT poorly stitched so came apart at a seam on 5th day of light use. I would love a replacement pair to know whether this flaw is typical or slipped through quality control. I will update my review if the sellers are forthcoming.

So I ordered these and instead of nice orange leathercraft gloves I got 10 shopping bags. Why?
