Amazon is the new Marshall Field's

There is something so elegant about Crane & Co. stationery. It reminds me of a bygone era. I fondly remember entering Marshall Field's Department store on Wabash and being surrounded by beautiful and wildly expensive Crane custom stationery. I love holding a single sheet to the light and seeing the Crane watermark in the cotton paper. For a long time I have had a 50 count box of Crane's Kid Finish Ecruwhite sheets, but had long since used the matching packet of envelopes. Since the sheets are 71/4" x 10 1/2", and Marshall Field is a distant memory, I never knew where to get envelopes that would do the set justice. I was excited to find these Ecruwhite Kid Finish envelopes on Amazon. They are exactly the right size to fold the stationery in half, and even after all this time, the sheets and the envelopes are a perfect match. The envelopes are unlined and the back has the embossed CRANE & Co. signature just below the point of the flap.. Now I could use a fountain pen...
