2023 Subaru Ascent

i don’t usually post a review on the stuffs i buy, but i wanna give others the assurance that this one fit on 2023, or at least on the limited models like mine. Been hesitant buying this because of the mix and unclear reviews weather if it fits on the 2023’s. As it doesn’t have much info on the internet (yet), you don’t get much of an option as well… (yet), and the only one that specifically made for 2023 is more expensive, a little bit different built which look and i believe more sturdy and capable of towing heavier trailers. For someone like me who will use the hitch for simplier stuffs like ebikes, the old one will do the work. Easy to assemble, installed myself with the help of my wife, took about 30-40 minutes.

Easy to instal

Easy to instal. Remove your metal bumper bracket and instal this hitch in its place. Keep in mind the tye hitch bracket has a slight bow, that is normal and it’s meant to cause some pressure to avoid bolts becoming loose while towing. I read a review where a person claimed that the holes do not match the chassis. It’s incorrect, they match but the hitch bracket has a bow. Start all 6 bolts, not the 2 nuts. As you put some pressure all will line up just fine. Use the provided washer and bolts. Once all bolts are tight, then secure the 2 original nuts. The same manufacturer sells the 4 pins electrical kit. Super easy and plug and play. You can use any 2” hitch now.

Fits the 2019 Subaru Ascent

Install is pretty straightforward. I could have given this a 5 star, but packaging was damaged on arrival. The box is torn on one end exposing the item. No cushioning on the torn end resulting to a ding and chipped paint of the plate where you bolt it on the Subaru. Other than that, I think it’s built well. We’ll see once I actually use it.

awesome hitch, crappy delivery and missing hardware

Installed one on my 21 Ascent, perfect, 90 minute install. New car, order another, lost in transit Order another, damaged in transit, undeliverable Ordered a third, shows up with no bolts. I didn't notice missing bolt package until I finally got around to installing it. Two hour runaround at 4 auto parts stores, less than an hour install, now that I've done it once.

Just like OEM

This was well constructed, packed properly, and had good instructions. It's a few more steps than the under mount style, but it's invisible when not in use and this is just like the OEM option, but at a fraction of the price. I'm very happy with this purchase.
