Regarding the little white part that's at the back of the cartridge, be sure to position the two holes on the top, and make sure the slot at the front of the cartridge is lined up correctly on the left side. Otherwise, the problems you might have are: water will leak, the handle will not be tight, and the on and off will be reversed. After I had removed all the old parts, I had to hire a plumber, because the rubber washers were too tight for me to remove. (I decided not to struggle with it for who knows how many hours it would take...) The plumber had never worked with a Valley faucet before. He was able to remove the old washers quickly with long-handled needle nose pliers, but when he inserted the cartridge, the part in the back was positioned incorrectly (only one hole was on the top). The water still leaked, the handle was not tight enough, pushing the handle up turned the water off, and pushing the handle down turned the water on, which is the reverse of the way it's supposed to be. I told the plumber that I would try to fix it. I figured I had researched this product enough that I would be able to find the problem--and was anxious for him to leave, because I had no faith that he would figure out and fix the problem. After the plumber left, I removed all the parts, except for the rubber washers and springs, changed the position of the part in the back of the cartridge, so that the two holes were on the top, and then reassembled everything. Now it no longer leaks, the handle is tight, and pushing the handle up is on and down is off. One more thing: When screwing the bonnet back on, I used a screwdriver to hold the little white part in the front of the cartridge into place, so it wouldn't slip out and come forward, which will cause the handle to be loose. So glad this is done!

Easy to install
I bought this cartridge to eliminate dripping from my shower. My only complaint is that it did not include the springs and seats necessary to complete the job. The seats and springs only cost about $4.00 and I got them at the local hardware store, but it would not make sense to replace the cartridge without the seats and springs. Otherwise, it was easy to install. Good value for the money. The leak is fixed!!

Garbage my tap now has a constant leak
That now I have a constant leak from my tap I have to get another new shower surround to have my tap fixed properly because this dance valley faucet replacement cartridge doesn’t work. So now I’m out that money and the 250$ I paid for this shower surround. Not compatible other then the fact that it somewhat fits
