A case of "It's not you, it's me"

Years ago I bought a tan leather messenger bag in Germany and I loved its utility, softness, and casual good looks. Unfortunately, it was stolen from the back of my car in college. I've always had an eye out for a suitable replacement, and when I saw this bag and read the great reviews I thought I'd finally found the one. Overall it's a fine piece - sturdy leather, seems well constructed, and has decent pockets for organizing. The problem is the size. As a 5'6", slim-built woman, this bag really overwhelmed my frame. I felt like I was wearing a seat cushion on the end of that strap! I think on a larger person this would not be a problem, but it was almost comical on me. It would've been helpful to see a photo of this bag on a model before buying.

Beautiful, functional, practical -- truly magnificent!

This was a birthday gift that I got to choose - one of my favorite kinds. I'd recently been advised to get a cross-body bag for my necessities, as shoulder bags both stress my back and slide down my arm (and pinch!) when I'm using forearm crutches. I started searching and comparing in January, and chose this bag in early March. The time shopping/reading reviews/compiling data was definitely worth it, because this is a winner. This bag works equally well for men or women. (My husband has already asked if he could borrow it if I was not using it.) It is "unisex" without looking too masculine, too feminine, or too blah. That's a tough thing to do! It's classically styled, and the "cafe" color works with black, brown, blue, etc. The bag itself is a good size - large enough to hold a laptop (of reasonable size) if you need to carry one. It has thoughtful pockets - the padded laptop sleeve (with a secure strap), a large inner pocket, a good-sized zipper pocket plus two open pockets covered by the flap that have various slots for pens, cards, etc. within them, and a large full width pocket on the reverse -- I can lose my cell phone all OVER the place! ;-) I clip my key carabiner on the hardware for the strap. I could EASILY use this bag as a weekender, though I am a light packer for trips. The hardware is great looking and works well. The flap has a ring on it that the bag's tab passes through to latch with a magnetic snap closure. It stays shut when you want it to, but is very easy to open when necessary. The strap itself is clever - it has just enough curve that it lays comfortably whether you choose to wear the bag across the body or over a shoulder, and you can wear it on the right or left. The strap has plenty of length to adjust, too, so even tall people like me can wear it low enough to benefit from the shift in the center of gravity. Even though this was a gift, the cost was coming out of our household budget, so I was conscious of price. This bag is an absolute bargain. It is far less costly than most similar offerings, but the quality is top notch. The stitching is flawless; the hardware is splendid; and the leather is gorgeous, soft, and high-quality.

Great bag, professional looking and easy to tote

Great bag. Looks professional and holds a laptop comfortably. There isn't a lot of space for other, non-folder shaped items but I think that's good since I tend to overpack. My only real complaint is that the bottom of the bag isn't very stiff and tends to droop. I would prefer it if the bottom were more structurally reinforced so that the bag holds its "boxy" shape more.

Excellent bag. Highly recommend it!

Summary: Buttery soft yet thick leather. Just the right number of pockets. Classic elegant design. Reinforced adjustable shoulder strap that should resist the usual ravages of constantly bearing a heavy burden. Flawless stitching and great attention to detail. I LOVE this bag! My 17 year old daughter also loves the black one I was originally send my mistake. And I must say, to err is human but great customer service will win my loyalty anytime! When I contacted the seller, they sent me the tan bag I'd ordered and it arrived the next day. This *is* the bag I've been looking for! Details: Underneath the main flap that closes with a strong magnetic snap are 2 fully lined parallel vertical rectangular pockets with open tops - perfect for sunglasses, phone, or whatever else you need quick access to. One side has a small plastic business card size pocket inside the vertical pocket. The other side has pen pockets. Immediately behind that is a lined rectangular pocket closed by a sturdy zipper. Inside the main fully lined compartment are 2 compartments, one of which is padded to protect a laptop or large tablet.

I bought this bag 2 years ago and I had to retire it, and now I'm going to purchase it again.

This is truly the best messenger bag I have ever owned. I have bought some very high end bags and they fell short to the versatility and functionality of this bag. I had to retire my original purchase of the color cafe, not because of quality or the leather but because I literally wore the inside, completely out. The lining and sectioning started to "mysteriously" hide my keys, my wallet and phone. It was out of frustration I had to stop using it. I think this time I am going to purchase the color Tan. I am College student taking heavy duty medical science courses, I am also business woman that juggles a ton of life between school and work. This bag has made the transitioning between my two worlds effortless and without complication, well at least until I completely demolished the lining. Love, Love this bag and I hope whomever purchases it next will enjoy it as much as I have.

Bag split after a couple of weeks

I would not recommend this product. After a couple of weeks usage the bag has splits down the side, as though a razor blade had sliced through it.

Wonderful Bag - Will Never Give it Up

I bought this bag several years ago and am still using it. I have a long commute and use the bag not to carry a laptop, but to carry several books, cables for electronic devices, wallet, glasses, grooming products, etc. It is very well designed with front pockets (one for keys and pens, one for pills and phone) and large back pocket which you can squeeze a newspaper into if needed. The bag is very well crafted and has an extra long shoulder strap which I find particularly appealing. I bought this bag in the several colors to have some seasonal variation and will continue using them from now on....
