They're Grates and Decorative

Not much to review here. They're dandy. Exactly what I wanted. Screwed into the wall beside the duct opening. They sit there and grate, decoratively.

Easy to install

I used this to replace some fin air returns that whistled when the furnace kicked on. It was driving me nuts. These have nice big holes to let a lot of air through. Be aware, you can see the ducts through the return because of the size of the holes. Installation was smooth, it came with 2 screws that matched the grate, and the holes lined up with my old grate.

Sturdy Quality Cover

Floor, wall, or ceiling vent hole cover. Quality powder coated matte finish paintable [tho does not need painting if black is OK] 16ga steel stamping with two [2] 1/8" diameter mounting holes for flat or rounded head screws [2 flat head provided] on 10-1/2" centers. Air opening is 5-1/2"x9-1/2". Plate itself measures 7-1/2"x11-1/2". Plate has slightly rolled perimeter and projects from mounting surface ca1/8". Would not hesitate to buy again if needed. Piece is thick and stiff enough to be used for a floor grate cover where its projection above floor would not present a trip/stumble problem tho size is more indicative of use for a wall vent cover. Would be nice if it had a bug screen.

Wide open spaces.

It looks very nice and is of a good quality material. It was easy to install, however, the openings are very wide. If you drop something, it will disappear. I now have to purchase a screen to put underneath it..just in case.

Good purchase

These look great and totally meet expectations. They don't feel as sturdy as the basic grates, but I think that's mostly due to the cut shapes and spaces. They are definitely as sturdy as they need to be.

Almost 5 stars - nice grate

The grate is excellent and a good value for the money. The finish is a nice flat black with a sandy texture and matches our dark floors perfectly. The design is stylish. This would have been 5 stars except that the screws used to install the grate are not of a sufficient quality. One of the screws broke half way through and left 1/4" of screw sticking out of the floor. A 5 minute installation ended up being a trip to the hardware store and required a Dremel to cut down the screw. Fortunately I had some flexible space around the air intake to move the grate to the left. Hardened screws would be appropriate for wood floors. I even drilled pilot holes. Otherwise this is a great grate.

Good styling

I actually used this instead of plastic grille on an old chimney stack. I painted some fine mesh back and stuck it to the back of this item. Much better on the eye that plastic grilles

Very nice!

Item as described and pictured. Great price! I gave 4 stars because it’s not sturdy enough for high traffic areas, but I figured that for the price. Overall very happy with look and design of it.

Holes too big

I ended up getting a different design than this one as I find it to be very old fashioned. The holes are also a lot bigger than they appear online so be careful of getting things stuck on them if you have kids or pets.

Good value, nice design and paint finish.

Nice design, style, rather flimsy, wouldn't recommend it being used in a high traffic area. Needs a centre support for strength.
