Perfect to minimize the opening of traditional can lights.

We wanted to use screw in bulbs for our new house but not have such a big opening. These worked perfectly. I did shop around and ordered 40 from another site for about 50% less, but this one was my test case and it was fine. I'm going to knock off one star. I still really like them, but the light from the can bleeds through, so there is a halo around the light. I did see some users that have taken them down and spray painted the inside ring black. So I might suggest you try that if the halo might bother you.

Fits perfectly, looks great, covers up the previous owner's mistakes

The previous owner of my house installed recess lighting everywhere. Apparently he used the cover as a template when cutting the holes though because they're exactly the same size as the standard 7" covers. I bought this because it's 8" wide but still designed for 6" cans. It's perfect. It took seconds to install and covered up the unsightly cutouts in the ceiling. I will say the profile of the cover isn't a proper arc, it has a flat plateau. This isn't an issue if you use the exclusively but it will appear different if placed next to most other covers.

Beware....these have a frosted glass in 5 inch opening, not as described.

This is the first thing I have ever ordered from Amazon that was not at all as described. All the measurements are off and these covers actually have a frosted glass cover over the hole that diffuses the light. There is not one mention of this in the description, I would not have ordered these if I had know that. I am using an R30 bulb and need a 4 inch opening, which was described and even a specific question to that regard. These are 5 inch openings, so I can't remove the frosted glass without changing to an R40 bulb. They look good, my contractor has them up, but sure disappointed in my light output, and hesitant on further product descriptions now. They actually attach with a hinged wire, not a spring as noted in the specs. it works, just not as tightly....probably can adjust where I see light peeping above the rim....just put up yesterday.

Great product, just what I needed!

Exactly what I needed to fill the extra space after I switched my porch lights from flood type to a regular motion sensing bulb. Very easy to install and does what it’s supposed to do.

Great trims for the price. These are flat until the edge where it is like a quarter round that meets the ceiling, not a slightly curved bevel from the center to the edge. But they seem good quality and I have no complaints. I bought 24 and all were packaged well with no blemishes.

New Trim Perfect for My Old-Style Pot Lights

The old plastic trim around our recessed lights had yellowed. Also. new LED bulbs were too narrow in width and not long enough for this older recessed lighting fixture. (See photo 2.) The Design House wide ring trim (See installed, 1st photo) covers the gap in width between the new LED bulb and my original pot light fixture housing. To install I removed the bulb, unhooked the fixture's inner baffle coil spring from the housing, and removed the yellowed trim ring from the baffle. Then I hooked the new trim by the included trim springs to the spring holes in the baffle and reattached the baffle to the housing by the baffle's spring clips. There are no included instructions. probably because all fixtures aren't alike, but this trim basically hooks on and the springs hold it tight against the ceiling. To solve my bulb depth problem I screwed a Dicuno E26 to E26 socket extender (ordered separately from Amazon.ca) onto the LED bulb and then screwed the extender with bulb attached, into the original fixture socket. It will be easy to unscrew. Installation took minutes. The old fixture looks new and the light quality is better. Product was shipped quickly and is well packaged. Finish has been perfect on 16 of these installed so far.

tricky install but if you can manage it, they look great!

I had 7" holes in my ceiling and the cans (8") were ugly and yellowed with age. I had to bend the pieces left in my ceiling to get these to hook on and stay but once that was done they were easy enough to hook into place. White, smaller opening, and look much more modern.
