Not for my flare ups

The first thing my dermatologist told me about eczema was not to use soap and not to overuse hot water. Well, Dove isn't a "soap" per se and that's why people like it. As for over-hot baths - I have a hard time cutting back on those! My neck is where I get really livid eczema and I've used Avene's Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil for my face and neck in the bath and I swear by it. Even on livid skin it reduces itching and soothes. With all the barrier creams and/or Tacroliminus I do need to wash it off and start fresh, but I don't think this bar is ideal at this time. The Avene is what soothes and effectively cleanses. (The Avene Lipid-Replenishing Balm for daily use on this area is also key in preventing flares in the first place. Expensive, but a lifesaver.) In fact, I'd been flare-free (and feeling bulletproof) for several months when I decided to go ahead and use this bar all over when the flare happened. I'm not blaming the bar, I'm just saying I'm sticking with Avene for my neck. I do also get the lesser itching on back of knees, inside elbows, etc. and I do feel that this particular bar has helped with that. It's very gentle and a good bar generally, I do think it is is generally soothing and a good cleanser. I will continue to use it for everything below the neck because it is gentle and soothing. My favorite Dove bar is the blue package for Dry, Cracked skin. That's like those 2-in-1 shampoos where you get shampoo and conditioner in one dose. The Dry, Cracked skin bar soap pretty much takes away the need for hand lotion no matter how much you wash. Remarkable.

Not such Fragrance Free

Dove Body Love Beauty Bar Soap Eczema-Prone Skin Care 10 Count Fragrance Free Instantly Soothes & Nourishes Dry-Itchy Skin Colloidal Oatmeal 7.5 oz The bar soaps are good, pretty smooth and not dry. I feel like my skin is kind of sensitive and the soaps still work for me. As for the fragrance free, I can smell some fragrance although it is not too strong. Hope it could be more fragrance free.
