hose connection to pump

Great pump overall, nice long discharge hose, good quality plastic, nothing to rust. However the connection of the hose to the pump body is weak. There is spiral washer that wraps around the hose and then a friction fit can be made to the pump body. My spiral washer broke as I went to install it. What a pain. Seems like this is a weak design feature. I ordered an o-ring kit and will try to improve the connection and hopefully make it water tight.
