Nice. A bit pricey, but good stiff wire and resistor color code wire
I spent the extra $$$ on this because it seemed to be the only solderless breadboard wire kit on amazon I could find that used IEC color codes for the wire sizes, which is important when building a clean board; when the wire follows standard color codes, it's easy to know which wire will fit precisely between two board positions. If I need to connect points that are: 3 positions apart? orange wire. 2 positions apart? red. etc. Makes assembly quick and decreases "off-by-one" mistakes. Good for professional clean work. The case seems fine: the hinge is a true rotating hinge, not a "bending plastic" hinge that is subject to fatigue over time. These rotating hinges look like they'll last just fine. The wire is definitely stiff and NOT "noodley" which is good; some wire kits have thinner gauge wire that bend too easily when sticking them into stiff prototyping boards. Pics included show: (1) the entire kit, (2) color coded wire uses resistor color code for breadboard unit sizes, (3) closeup of box's non-fatigue rotating hinge, (4) closeup of one of the two lid latches; use thumb/forefinger on each hand to twist open both latches at same time. For me, worth the bit of extra cost for the stiff, color coded wire.

Very nice kit but not exactly as pictured.
This is a very nice kit but, as other's have pointed out, it's not exactly as pictures. If you look at the product picture, the difference between that and the actual product can be described by saying the left-most small compartments from top to bottom (the column with the label over it) is not included with the product. Mine has 9 small compartments, one large compartment(the same length as 4 small compartments together) and one medium compartment (the same length as 3 small compartments) for a total of ten compartments. I see complaints that the box is lousy but mine is quite rugged. Perhaps there has been a change to the product. It's a very thick, tough, and flexible plastic not the brittle type of plastic that breaks easily. Yes, it is a milky color and not clear as someone have complained but I don't see that as a problem. After all, when you are choosing a jumper, you have to open the box anyway. That complaint is trivial and nit-picking, IMO. My kit was packed very well and I received it in two days. When I opened it, I was happy because other's have complained that the jumpers were all mixed up buy mine appeared to be just about perfect. However, with closer inspection, I see that some of the very small jumpers are mixed up a bit. I don't see that as a big issue. I will have that sorted out in just a few minutes. However, it would have been nicer if each different size had it's own compartment. The large and medium compartments have two different lengths of jumpers in each compartment but, because they are color coded, that's no problem. But it would have been nice if he very smallest jumpers each had their own compartment. There would have to be one more compartment for that. There are 13 different lengths of jumpers fitting in 9 compartments. But the only minor issue will be with the two smallest jumpers sharing the same compartment. Of course, you could separate those and put two of the longer jumpers together which would probably be a good idea. All-in-all, I am very happy with the kit. I should say that I haven't used them in a breadboard yet so I cant' comment on how they fit yet. But they are nice and stiff and should be easy to work with as long as the lengths are correct.

A Timesaver in Several Ways
I didn't buy these at Amazon but did purchase the same kit. I have breadboarded many circuits over the years using solid wire. Breadboarding, in itself, can be problematic due to mis-wiring and loose jumpers. Since it's difficult to strip both ends of a short jumper, homemade jumpers tend to be longer, get in the way, and can cause signal problems. For anything but a relatively simple circuit, use of homemade jumpers quickly looks like a forest! These jumpers are certainly good for initial breadboarding, but they are equally valuable when building a hard-copy of your design. There are several suppliers, including those on Amazon, who offer what's called a "proto board". This board has hole and bus patterns like a breadboard except that there are copper pads on the back. So, once you have a working breadboard design, it's easy to duplicate it on a proto board, soldering the same length jumper you used to breadboard. I find this a great time saver for one-of-a-kind designs. The only thing you have to be al little careful of is where one jumper crosses another at the stripped ends. You could have a short. There is a little confusion in the description. There are 14 different lengths including a short, no insulation, jumper. The box has only 12 compartments so 2 of the lengths are shared with other lengths. I have found "refill" jumper kits, not Elenco branded, that contain about 140 jumpers for about $3. Interesting, the lengths and colors of the refill kit jumpers correspond with those in this kit. As a hobbyist, I have found that the least pleasant aspect of electronics is building hardware. Using these jumpers during both the design and build process is a time saver and reduces the chance of mis-wiring over the old "haywire" process.

Good kit!
I've been using these wires for the last 6 years or so for home projects and while getting my Electrical Engineering degree and have purchased them in various packages and forms. Unfortunately, my kit arrived with the box broken in 3 places (didn't look as pictured) and the wires were scattered all over the package. I had to go out and buy another container and after sorting, everything works really well. I'm really picky when I lay out my circuits, even just quick prototypes for testing, and I really like the different sizes available. After working with them for a while, you are able to do your layouts with the lengths of the various colors in mind, it makes things move really quickly and they're super easy to troubleshoot. They're a little more expensive than I thing they should be, but they do work well.

wisch they had put more longer one

a little expensive. would be good to get a bit more for the price.
a little expensive for a handful of wire, but very good quality and solid ends. good for breadboarding.

This kit is great but the case is smaller
This kit is great but the case is smaller, less compartments and cheaper than the picture resulting in mix of small size together. Wire are great and good quality.

Almost out of the short jumpers
Great kit. Kind of wish they sold jumper kits with just the smaller sizes though.

Exactly what it says. Seemed a lot for just some chunks of wire, but they're all pre-stripped and bent and organized - major time-saving if you're breadboarding a project.
