I wasn't exactly certain what to order, as this wass the first time I ever needed a new thermostat. The product description was helpful and accurate. I did have our handyman install it for me so I can't speak to the ease of that task. Works well and as expected.

Bad buttons

Bought this to replace one just like it and the buttons are not the same. They're hard to press and sometimes get stuck pressed in causing the temperature to increase a few degrees instead of just one

Easy installation, simple programming

This was relatively inexpensive and simple to install. Programming it takes a minute but it's not too bad. I miss one feature that my old one had ... being able to program days individually. Or maybe I haven't figured it out yet. All in all it's a good value.

Replacing a White-Rodgers that was 25 years old

Replacing a White-Rodgers that was 25 years old. We wanted one that was comparable so this is what the company recommended. We did NOT want one that had tons of functions. It need to be slightly programmable, work for heat and AC. So after hunting down phone numbers and emails - this is the unit referred. In the end it was easy to understand - easy to program. However, ours doesn't have a backlight as shown in the photo (minus one star.) Quick tip - if you're home is dry, do not walk across the carpet and touch it. If you happen to throw a shock it could short the thermostat.

Nice, good-looking Thermostat

I believe Emerson to be a quality manufacturer, and I like the fact that this model is adjustable as to the cycling rate regarding temperature. Can be set at fast-cycle (turns the heating/cooling on or off at less than 1 degree) or slow-cycle (turns the heating/cooling on or off at 1.5 degrees above or below setting). A Honeywell thermostat that a repairman installed has no such adjustment (Stupid!)--so the heat-pump turns on and off too often. The wiring diagrams leave a little to be desired (only showing 24 VAC connections)--and I've wanted to use this as just battery-operated (which it is capable of).

Identical mounting to my old White Rodgers. I like the extra programmability function of being able to program each day separate vs. my old model which was 5/1/1.

Accurate fully adjustable thermostat

This is my second purchase for this product. The first one lasted years & needed replacement. I researched this thermostat years ago (and had to go through a lot to get one) and bought it because the anticipater is adjustable, meaning you can choose to have the heat rise 1° or 1½°. It is easily programmable. Great product!
