Just what I needed

I used this for my kiln room. I put it high up so my kids can't get by a hot kiln and I can't get locked in there.

Perfect Solution for Our Situation

We have a dog who knows how to open doors and we needed a way to be able to lock the rear garage door but also keep two-way traffic access. We live in an area where it snows and gets icy, so leaving a key in the deadbolt wasn't a great option since the door is on the wind bearing side. This deadbolt with a thumb-turn on both sides was a great option and honestly - I don't know why this isn't a more popular item. I could see this being a great option for interior doors which you want to childproof such as pantries, laundry rooms, basement stairs, etc. It prevents getting locked in/out and is an easy mechanism to turn - much easier than some of the keyed ones for sure!
