This lamp is beautiful and fits perfectly over the table in our corner nook. Its' simplicity and elegance would fit with any updated kitchen style. I only gave it four stars because although I ordered it from the open box warehouse, I thought I was getting an undamaged piece. Needless to say, the hole in the shade was a huge surprise! The electrician had already installed the light when we found the hole so I didn't bother to send it back. If there were no hole I would rate it five stars for the great quality of the piece and its' looks.

For the price this is pretty nice, very simple and clean. Yes the instructions were terrible so you'll need someone who knows what they're doing installing new lights. And it does have a seam on the shade that fortunately I can spin to the back and it's not visible. If you're planning to put this in the center of a room that might be a bit annoying.

Beautiful and elegant fixture

Very, very pleased. I recently redecorated my house from top to bottom, and part of that was changing the light fixtures in several areas of my house. I chose this for a stairway landing and it looks great. It has great lines, and the brushed nickel is elegant and subtle. The linen shade is very nearly pure white - only very, slightly off-white. Because I wanted to hang it on a stairway landing (instead of over a dining table, for example) I wanted a diffuser on the bottom so the bulbs aren't visible as you walk up the stairs. This fixture has a handsome one with subtle alabaster shadings. I also needed a fixture that could hang from the sloped ceiling over the stairway,and not all pendant fixtures have that capability, as this one does (it can also be attached to a flat ceiling, of course.) Like many (most?, all?) such projects, costs can add up to more than you expect, and I've tried to keep my costs down. The price of this fixture is very reasonable considering the quality and appearance. I chose a companion chandelier fixture for the dining room, one with five arms and matching linen shades. It comes in three sizes-3 arms, 5 arms, and a two level one with 8 arms (I think). I believe I will enjoy these fixtures for years to come.

Great Kitchen Lighting

I ordered this to put in our kitchen breakfast nook and it worked out perfectly. The only thing is that I wish the shade were a little more of a bright white but the style and price were great and I am well satisfied by purchase. The bulbs are easy to replace and allow for a large enough wattage to see well.

Great light but the instructions a bit lacking. This light looks great but if your not a mechanically inclined person your going to be disappointed. the instructions are very limited. Once together it looks great.

Easy to install. Looks very nice. There's a white filter that hides the lights on the bottom. Looks cheap but is standard for that type compared to other brands I've seen.

Looks great, so classic

Was looking for a fixture for a conversation nook in output new home. The one that was there was so ugly. The bulb was exposed and it had no real style. Every time I see this area now I smile. This light fixture made it cozy yet classy!

Great Purchase

We really loved this lamp as soon as we opened the box. The price is right, and it looks more expensive once installed. The diffuser is the difference in this fixture. It casts a lovely soft light over our large dining room table. Install a dimmer switch, and voila....instant ambience!
