Do not get it around water

The media could not be loaded. Most all dog colors say they are IPX rated for being in or around water. This one says the same thing. But I can tell you for a fact it does not have a seal between the two cases and will let water in very easily. So try to keep it dry. Make sure your pet is comfortable , And do not keep on your pet all day at night. Shock mode will make your pet have burnt spots on their neck if you use this shock mode so don’t complain your dog has spots of hair missing. It’s because you’re abusing them. Remember your pet is part of the family. Do not install the color too tightly you should be able to get both fingers behind the prongs while the dog is wearing the color. I chose this one over other ones because the manufacturer actually warranties it for one year. I don’t know what they do on Amazon but the manufacturer will warrantee this for one year as long as you don’t open it up. Abby says hello to everyone ???????? My reason for choosing this device over others is because other ones malfunction and shock your dog into post traumatic stress disorder. And that’s really bad on your dog. I’ve had both colors for quite a while they work pretty good. Only thing I don’t like is you have to reset the color to the remote every day after charging which is kind of an irritation in the morning.

Wrong add on colar

I accidentally bought this add on remote trainer colar instead of the add on for the fence system. I returned it thinking it wasn't charging and bought another one which also didn't work to discover I was buying the wrong color. This is my fault but the only reason I'm doing 4 instead of 5 stars is because they should probably make it a different color or something in case someone else makes this dumb mistake like I did

1 out of 4 Collars worked

My last dog fence system was close to 20 years old and I had repaired the collars myself...but the life was up and they didn't make them anymore so I looked for an alternative and found this brand. Features look good - I really like the vibration/tone setting - it will stop by dog in her tracks. My first order of a system and an extra color - one collar didn't work at all and the other one didn't emit a tone when it was supposed to...so I reached out to Amazon and they sent me replacements...the first replacment collar I tried - perfrect...vibration and tone exactly like it is suppposed to...But tried the other collar and nothing - exactly like one of the first shipment collars. The collars are well built and inexpensive so I guess this will be pot luck - I will try again with Amazon and hopefully I end up with two working collars. THe company needs to improve its quality control...but due to the cost - I will try a few more times. Update...I think my extra collars are for the remote trainer system and not the fence...Hard to tell - the are identical - I guess I ordered the wrong ones. WOrking on getting the right one..so maybe only one of my two devices didn't work properly...

Always have to charge, useless.

You have to recharge to often, so it's not productive for training your pet. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Not worth it separately

Overall this is a great product to train your dog. Unfortunately buying the set separately became a problem when I wasn’t able to connect a separate controller.

Easy to use and pair with remote control.

This Free Spirit Remote Trainer Addon Collar works great and is very easy to pair with the existing remote. Just follow the directions that are included with the Free Spirit Remote Trainer. The additional collar provides flexibility for owners who own more than one dog. The remote control keeps you in control and prevents accidental shocks commonly associated with automatic bark collars. I have been using this item for several months now and am very satisfied with it. My puppies used to bark at my neighbors every time they were in the backyard. After a couple of static shocks (set to 20), my puppies stopped their nuisance barking. All I need to do now with any type of unwanted behavior is use the audible beep. They immediately stop what they are doing and come towards me to sit by my side. I have three puppies and two adult dogs. The Free Spirit Remote Training system made training the puppies and preventing unwanted behavior from the adult dogs easy. This product is made of high quality plastic and is very sturdy. I highly recommend this collar.

Bought this to replace one that I lost so I already had a remote. The Shock has dif strength levels so you don't hurt your animal. I tried it on myself and level 96 is quite painful. There is also a chime option and a vibration option that work equally as well for training purposes. The only thing I dislike is there is no way to lock the remote so you don't press the buttons by accident when traveling or is in your purse or pocket. I have shocked my dog accidentally a couple times while it was in my pocket at the park.

Wonderful for off leash training

I have two of these collars for each of my dogs and they can be controlled separately with one remote. I love that I can have different stimulation levels for each dog. Very useful collars for training. The chime sound never fails to get my dogs attention. I have not used the vibration setting much but it intense. With my german shepherd I tend to use low level stimulation to practice off leash and because there is such a large range of intensity, you can get the perfect threshold to keep training safe and fair.
