For me, it's almost perfect.

I had this same coffee maker for, I think, maybe fifteen years, and it finally conked out. I was really surprised to see I could still buy the exact same model. It looks like HB sees no reason to change anything or discontinue it for a "New and Improved!" model. It still even has the same red stripe (which I don't really care for) on the carafe. How about that? They DO make em' like they used to, God bless 'em! Here's what I love. 1. The well insulated carafe--that pours at a decent rate, instead of barely dribbling out. I'd never have dreamed this could be an issue, but the Mr. Coffee I just returned before I even used it taught me otherwise. I've now seen this as a common complaint with several others too. 2. The lid is very easy to lock in place, and it has a press-to-pour lever. No need to screw it on, being sure not to cross thread it, or turn it 90 degrees or whatever to "open" it for pouring. 3. The controls: They are actual buttons--not a flat panel. And it's very simple to program 4. The price: It's lower than many, including the one I returned, and far, far lower than some that I'm sure just make the same damn cup of drip coffee. And in fact, I just paid $15 less for it than I did some time in the 2000's. And 5. Like I said, it lasts. Here's what I don't love: The reservoir and its lid could be positioned in a way to make it just a little easier to fill. That's it.

The blue light on the pot is REALY BRIGHT

love the pot but the blue light on display is super Bright it lights up my whole kitchen so I had to put a Blackout cover over the lighted display .

Nice coffee machine overall

Overall, great coffee machine. The carafe itself is a bit flimsy. But I like the thermal feature. Held a hot coffee for an hour +, but the handle is falling off right out of the box. The other features work well. Including the timer. Recommendation, buy a metal cone filer as well to get the most out of the machine.

Hamilton Beach (46899A Programmable 10-Cup Thermal Coffee Maker

With a little practice I can now make a pretty decent cup of coffee. No burnt coffee with the thermal maker and no more breaking glass pot which happen often around here. "LOL" So, I guess at least so far, it's worth the money.

Not the Hottest Coffee Maker

As far as coffee maker speed goes, it takes about 10 min. to brew a pot of coffee. It's very easy to program. The stainless steel carafe is the main reason I ordered this coffee maker, and it insulates the coffee nicely. It also doesn't leak, which is why I needed a new coffee maker in the first place - my old one did But it just doesn't heat up the coffee that much. I understand boiling hot coffee is dangerous. But as an adult, I feel that if I want to scald my internal organs my coffee maker should make coffee hot enough to do so.

Pretty ordinary drip coffee maker. Carafe works great

I'm fairly satisfied. The carafe is great. It holds coffee hot for at least a couple of hours. You can improve the performance of the carafe by filling it full of hot tap water and letting it sit for a few minutes before brewing coffee. The carafe solves the problem of the final third of the pot getting burned into sludge by the heating element. I particularly like putting the full carafe full of coffee on the breakfast table as there is no need to keep it on the machine to stay warm. I do wish it had a removable water reservoir. Water is poured into the guts of the machine through 2 smallish openings. Some water ends up on the counter every time I fill it. The machine is rather tall. I didn't think about checking on this and I wasn't able to put the machine where I originally wanted as it wouldn't fit under the cabinet. It makes decent coffee but I'm still fine tuning my recipe and coffee choices. The programming feature is as simple as it gets and works great.

coffee is not hot enough

The coffee is not hot enough. it is difficult to fill the water holder without spilling. Very dissapointed.

This is my 2nd purchase of this item.

My first purchase of this item suddenly died after 5 years of moderately heavy use. I like the product well enough to want the very same model to replace it. I was able to find it on AMAZON at a reasonable price. The reviews point out some quirks of this machine and most are true, however, most are due to user errors.
